Nope. They will be lost or stolen in a week and you won’t feel bad cause they were $3. Kids are stupid.
Start them young with quality audio. It's a lifelong gift.

@bio: Thanks; nice to know. When my kid is 10, I might consider it. Although, even at that age, I probably still wouldn't give him in-ear ones (though I use them myself all the time).
@wisdomtooth: I don't like in-ears for kids either (I'd rather get them on-ear ones with sponge covers on them, retro style) but all the other kids at the school have in-ears, so they want to blend in.
@bio: Headphones are no longer hip?? I thought it was odd when they came back as all the rage some 10 years ago, but I never got it; I hate anything over my head. I just have noise cancelling ones to vacuum the house (and the one for the kid).
Kids deserve depending on how much they are willing to care for it.
If they treat their belonging like disposable trash. Then guess what?
If they will look after it. They deserve the very best.

Regardless, I'm interested in your opinion: why do you say they're junk? Have you tried them? Or are you saying that just bc of the price? I noticed OW have a lot of Otto stuff on clearance; maybe it's an average brand — perhaps an OW home brand? — closing up shop that OW just want off their inventories.

I haven't. Have you? Regardless, is "better quality" always best? I don't need super quality earphones to listen to podcasts (which is 99% of my listening), for instance.
