  • Yes. It's super cheap. I grabbed a couple of refills of both colours.

Chemists warehouse has cheaper refill heads too, 4 for $6

Is head the universal size? Can fit into any heads bought from Coles /wollies

    • Fits Colgate 'Pro clinical' handles. Even the omron made ones, although they look odd.

There's also the 500R version for 15 bucks rrp 54.99:

How are these compared to the Oral-B's that come on sale every couple weeks?

    • Ditto (tho dunno about 'that come on sale every couple weeks')

    • +1

I got one of those oral-b's with the semi-rotating head years ago for $40, and it's been pretty good. I haven't used this one, but i notice the head doesn't rotate, it's just vibration, which makes me think these are probably inferior and overpriced.

I have used rotating head brushes, and I prefer the Philips style vibrating ones. I felt like they cleaned better. When my Philips one died I picked up the xiaomi one which was comparable, if a bit cheaper feeling. I am fine with buying this one, especially for the price.

        • Interesting take. I liked the idea of rotation as it seemed the extra movement would increase the cleaning power, but these days i lean more toward very gentle brushing anyway and find i often switch between electric and a soft manual bush. Water flossing and piksters have taken a prominent place in my teeth routine and i think (so far) they're happier for it.

          • @ssfps: Can you recommend a water flosser? I am manually flossing atm and when I looked them up I didn't recognise any brands and they were quite expensive.

            • @Jackson: I bought this one last black friday: https://www.shavershop.com.au/search?q=Philips+Sonicare+Powe…

So far i've really enjoyed it and haven't had any issues with it.
I like the design but don't have experience with other models to compare it to.
My one complaint about this one, is the tubing to the handle is kind of short - i wish it were another 30cm longer so i didn't have to hunch when using it, but it's not so bad as to be a deal breaker.

I remember looking at a Panasonic model that i also thought looked pretty good and had good reviews online, but settled on the Philips as it was a bit cheaper and had similarly good reviews.

              BUT
it doesn't replace flossing entirely. It's nicer on the gumline and can blast out stuck food without messing with toothpicks most of the time, but i still use piksters and traditional floss here and there, perhaps more after certain foods.

              • @ssfps: 199 is a killer, I can't jump over that for a water pump attached to an nozzle. How much was it on black Friday? I tried to consider a small travel one and they are quite a bit cheaper but still pricey at 70 bucks or so

                • @Jackson: IIRC ~$170, and philips had a $25 cashback promo so it ended up being ~$145.
I was on the fence because, as you say, it's kind of pricey, but to me i think it's worth that price. I know I definitely wouldn't pay the $300 "RRP". If this one broke in 5 years i'd buy another for ~$180 so long as I could afford it.

  • The toothbrush heads look tiny

  • That's what she said

  • sonic isn't as good as rotation but still a good price

  • Are these cheap because they are discontinued? Wondering if I need to stock up on the heads

  • How good are this comparing to the oral b and Philips?

  • Thanks OP. Went to local store immediately and snap up all stock. These are Omron and compatible to all heads from Omron. Many more options esp interdental to choose from Japan. But the colgate ones at this price are much cheaper.

    • Yeah so did I.

I have 7 packs which is like 28 heads and 1 toothbrush which includes another 2 heads.

I think I need to buy another toothbrush just in case the vibrator fails.

  • Always feel like the non rotating ones not gonna clean my teeth good enough, can anyone confirm?

  • The in stock at locations is not up to date so check your local if you want one. Still 5+ at Chatswood (nearest train station) despite showing no stock.

  • I collected my click and collect, the item wasn't sealed and a sticky tape was used to keep the package intact, any suggestions?

  • They're showing $10 as at now.

  • Did anyone know if the charger universal?
