The Seiko looks nice for everyday wear. Hardlex glass though, I don't know how long it will last on my wrist. Not the best weekend sale by starbuy.

      this

You have a business meeting in another country to attend. Smart casual dress would do, it is happening at a private club.

You choose a blue sport coat and cannot decide on a watch. You order the Citizen NJ0171-81A from STARBUY from a deal you saw on Ozbargain on special for $219, express posted. It arrives in time and you remove some bracelet links and try it on. You marvel at the price/quality ratio.

Mineral crystal face and mechanical movement, stainless steel bracelet, 100m water resistance and rotating blue bezel.
The blue bezel looks almost black in some light conditions, then suddenly pops bright colour when it catches some rays. The bezel clicks in a satisfying way and the time is easy to read with well crafted hands and markers.

On the plane you think about how you could always perhaps swap to a black rubber strap to further enhance the contrast of the dial (which by the way is BEAUTIFULLY textured) - once again you are amazed by the value proposition of this Citizen.

Arriving at the hotel and dressing for the meeting you realize how the watch has grown on you. Sure it doesn’t have hacking but it keeps time brilliantly, +1 min in 9 days.

The meeting goes well and you shake hands with your new counterpart, the deal is good for both of you. Very good.

In the country you are in politeness and hospitality are important cornerstones of the society, so when your new partner compliments your watch, you slip it off your wrist and hand it to him as a gift. Something to remember the day with. He orders more drinks and pockets his Omega, a far more expensive piece. He admires the blue/white gem on his wrist, knows it is not expensive, and smiles. You smile and you both know that in addition to a great business partnership, you have made a new friend.

And then, and only then, is when you pickpocket his omega and run

Liking this Citizen Eco-Drive a lot, especially the linear machining on the dial, the subtle black accents on the outside, on the second hand, around the date window, and the black ring on the crown, plus the stylish bracelet.

A steal at $179.00, as on the wrist it would like it cost a lot more than that.

Subtle and underrated. I like it.

This one is also a beautiful one at $800 off RRP. A bit too big for me but should be good for most people in here.

    • I guess if you like that you might want to consider the Stardeal because it has standard lugs & is green -

      Citizen Divers BN0157-11X $299.00 delivered.

      • +1

Ahh yes, that's beautiful but I already have a green and a red already.

        • Other green options are the Fugu $399 del & BN0154-01X $329 del.

The Fugu doesn't look that green in the flesh, sometimes almost looks black depending on the lighting. Really nice watch.
