Are These Seeds of Cala Lily?

We got White Cala Lily in our backyard. It has gworn very tall, around 5 feet, gives flowers not very often. Even without flowers, we love it for the huge leaves.

Whenver a flower blossoms, it dies off naturally after some days. This time when one of the flower dried up, the bud was swollen and it had some chickpea kind of balls in it. Photo here - https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/195194/101771/20230218…

Are these seeds? What's the best way to use them? Should we dry them before sowing?

How can we maintain the plant better so as of have more flowers?

Why do you want to propagate more of this invasive weed? Even if you don't, it'll doubling itself quicker through the tubers, it might germinate from seed but will take longer to get there just like any tuber plant.

    • When we bought the property, it was there. We never knew these are a kind of weed.

We just liked the flowers and the foliage, and kept it there.

How much can it impact the soil?
Can you please point me to some plave where I can get more knowledge about their impact?

Thanks for your response. Appreciate it.

      • these african lily is very hard to kill of your land once they set foot in there, each grow cycle they release tens of little tuber around them, even if you decide to get rid of them take a good few month scrapping the soil until you get the last tuber of of the ground. They don't need much nutrient to thrive, but good soil and humidity will give out larger leaves and flower. Just do a wiki read and you'll know. If you dont plant anything else then that's fine but if you decide to grow some plants with this weed they'll soon get suffocated.

Can no one use search engines any more?? Here is a video to make it even easier…

And no, these are not the seeds. These are the seed pods.

    • I am not a very social person and when I am thinking about using these forums, trying to be social, these type of comments demotivate.

      Thanks for your response though.

And with the help of google search, I now know that these can be used to grow the plant. However, it may take very long.

  • I don't call it "being social" when people try to get others to do the leg work for them, I call it "lazy"
