lol thought this was a chocolate watch

  • Are these swiss made

    • Movement: Seiko NH35A Automatic movement

Probably not…well the movement definitely isn't but a reliable workhorse nonetheless.

This watch from what I know is designed by Emmanuel Gueit, who was previously a designer for Audemar Piguet and Fossil. The movement is basically Japanese NH35A (basically Seiko), Sapphire crystal, but the watch I believe is made in China. You are buying the design, or the supposed Australian microbrand, and not where it is made.

For the price, I think its good value seeing this watch started off being $788, then $400, then $349, then $199, and now $149. To be honest this is really touching AliExpress prices at this point. I honestly doubt this will get any cheaper. I recently bought my Seiko Presage, and although "made in Japan", it is twice the price, have the same NH35A movement, but only a Hardlex Crystal.

If you like the look of the watch (I personally like the white dial, blue dial looks quite cheap), then buy it, at least it doesn't look like a rip off Rolex/omega design with some random sounding brand.

AP and… Fossil. What a CV!

        • Still not as impressive as those Crypto Blockchain Entrepreneur and… McDonalds Fry Cook CV though.

  • As a watch nerd, I never heard of this brand either.
I would rather buy Seiko5 but price is pretty good if you factor in Sapphire glass and NH35 movement

  • Very good finish on these watches well worth the money I have both the blue and white and are lovely watches

    • Since you own both, having the watch in person. Do you prefer the blue or the white dial?

      • +1

Blue dial is beautiful white dial is more grown up and classic it's hard to pick which one,

The white will go with more clothes easier to style with

Both are great options sorry I couldn't help ha

Would these REEF BREAK watches be okay as daily drivers, or to wear to the footy maybe?
I can see GC Suns, Richmond 'Go Tiges', Caaaalton Blues and Port Adelaide Power (?).
    Sorry, I don't speak NRL.
Claiming a RRP of $249 and now $49.
Any good? I've no idea. But 50 bucks?
Not sure if I linked correctly.

Reef break are solidly built for 50 bucks they are worth about that much but not much more

I think it's free shipping so factor that In and it's only 40 bucks for a watch working chrono and full metal body

Yeah would be a good office watch if you don't care about the logo and resell value.

I recently got into "building my own mechanical watch" with AliExpress parts, and to be honest if you want to build a very similar looking watch this is how much it is going to cost:

    42mm Case with Sapphire & glass back - $55.05
    NH35 Movement - $38.93
    Hands - around $14.00
    Dial - around $20.00
    Leather Strap - around $8.00
    TOTAL: $135.98

Once you consider shipping, the build it yourself time, and lack of warranty on the AliExpress. This is quite a decent buy, perhaps I will buy it, wear it for a bit, then open it up and mod the hands and dials to my liking. At least it won't hurt as much as destroying an expensive watch. Lastly, you can tell people this watch was designed by Emmanuel Gueit, the same guy who did the re-design of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 2018 re-edition for a bit of added story and laughs.

  • Bought the watch and received it yesterday. Watch is reasonably packaged, but upon opening there were 5-6 small scratches around the watch brushed case, and even a small dent on the bezel, which was quite noticeable, seems like there are quality control issues. Will request for a replacement watch and see how I go.

    • How did you go with the replacement? Am considering one but curious how responsive support is to issues.

They responded almost immediately, sent me the new watch right away and included a return postage bag for me to send the faulty one back. The replacement watch was was perfect.
