Blender - Best of The Market Vs. Most Economic?

So my partner broke our blender… (rip)
Right now I am looking for a blender and I reckon I would like something nice (brand, durability…) but not a $699 one.
I use it sometimes to make an acai smoothie and she makes a pumpkin soup. Besides that, it doesn't move, trust me.
So doesn't have to be the MODEL 5500 XPTO. Something decent but feel free to give me your suggestions and also which deals should I look for.

Thanks everyone!

  • Ninja something (duo or pro) for $150-$250.. if you have zip pay there's a good guys store credit of $50 back on 200 plus spend

  • How do you break a blender? Serious question

Search for “does it blend” on youtube.

  • I’ve got one of those ninja cup ones. Works okay, but it’s not the best at getting an even blend. Been going for years though. I do soup in a blender attachment for my kambrook food processor. That’s about 4 years old now, and still kicking. But I use it a lot less than the ninja.

  • OmniBlend made by JTC Taiwan

Quality motor, blades and coupling so you don't start eating metal shavings and grease from exploded bearings
    Spare parts easily available

OmniBlend III - $329, basic controls, 2 year warranty
OmniBlend I - $429, intermediate rotary controls, 7 year warranty
OmniBlend V - $599, advanced button controls, 7 years warranty

  • If you don’t need the bullet type with inverted cups, a cheap and cheerful blender should be very durable.
We’ve only ever killed them from damaging the jug by dropping it etc.
Sunbeam/Brevile/Russell Hobbs etc. seem to offer options from $80 to $100.

    Get a Blendtec.

  • The cheapest is from Kmart. It's very noisy, and the plastic jug on mine cracked within a few weeks. Don't bother.

I bought a Philips ProBlend 5000 a few weeks back from Myer when it was on sale, I think it was $159 or $169, but it's been on sale for less. It seems to be selling for $199 everywhere now. So far so good. It has a glass jug and a blender cup and it's relatively quiet.

  • I've just gone from a Nutribullet to a Vitamix that I bought for $420 off Amazon, it blends much much better. For something like acai bowls I used to have to add a lot of liquid in the Nutribullet to get it going. I haven't tried it in the Vitamix yet but it crushed ice almost instantly and imagine it would do the same with frozen acai.

  • Side note : You should look into getting your partner a stick blender for pumpkin soup (or any soup that needs to be blended). You can pick them up for very cheap these days (Kmart, Aldi). Life changing stuff imo lol

    • I wouldn't feel great about putting hot soup into a glass blender, a plastic stick blender makes a lot more sense.

    • Fwiw I find a non-stick blender much better for soup. If you use a stick blender in a large saucepan full of soup it seems to miss bits and end up with lumps.

  • These guys make a good product.
