Lawnmower

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has come across any bargains lately for lawn mowers. Currently looking at Rovers or Honda avoiding other brands due to bad experiences.

Im after a push type mower which has a throttle controller with a pull cord (not key start)

Not fussed on the deck size. Needs to have a catcher.

Also noticed a couple guys on ebay selling mowers which had for example a honda motor but a generic frame and etc so it was actually a honda mower just a chinese mower with a honda motor. This is something new for me.

    Big W will usually run these deals. Bunnings has never run a decent deal on their lawn mowers.

    With all of the cheap lawn mowers, the catcher is usually soft catcher which wont last very long. The most important thing is the engine, 90% of lawn mowers under the $600 range all have the same brand/quality engine by Briggs and Stratton.

    3 year warranty. Can't go wrong! After 3 years, buy another one if yours needs expensive serving. Also, I think the oil inside 4 stroke motors needs to be replaced every 6 hours of use (from memory) which isn't hard/expensive at all.

    There's one coming up in the next Aldi sale. It's a self-propelled mulching one - from memory it was pretty pricey but had a 3 yr warranty.

    The Gardeners Choice mower from kmart is a great deal.
    I paid $249. Plus I purchased a sanli mulching plug.
    The engine is a honda copy.

    our last rover lasted over 20 years so id rather put my hand deep in my pocket. but id be interested to see what aldi has on offer.

    But.. I don't get how a lawn mower can be Automatic? It has gears? It cuts the lawn by itself?

    ive read a lot of negative feedback in relation to the big w one. I'll have to check out the Aldi one.

    If not looks like its going to be retail for a rover or honda.
