Help Me Find a nbn FTTP Upgrade Plan 100Mbps or Higher & Router

Currently with Telstra on FTTN and now eligible for FTTP. Currently paying $85 with landline for Unlimited data @ 50/20Mbps. Happy to ditch the landline and Telstra for something better priced with free upgrade to FTTP. In addition looking to purchase own router and would like to hear suggestions on these also. Cheers

If you are a Commonwealth bank customer, More Telecom gives you the best discount.$69.20 for 100/20 upgrade

    • Isnt there a terms and condition saying discounts are not available for the upgrading FTTP plan option ?

      • Depends on providers and your location as FTTP roles out if im not mistaken.

50Mbps plan isn't enough to get your nbn changed from FTTN to FTTP. The requirement for FTTN to FTTP is at least 100Mbps. Use this 1 Month Free Unlimited nbn (New & Relocating Customers) @ Aussie Broadband. After that swap to any ISP you want - Superloop and Leaptel have better prices than Aussie BB.

When buying new you don't need a modem/router all-in-one. A fibre NTD gets installed and you plugin a router to that. How much do you want to spend on a router? Is a single Wi-Fi router enough or do you need a mesh setup?

Thanks for the info. Yes planning on moving to 100Mpbs and looking at More. I currently have a TP link mesh setup. Thinking about $150 on a router, any suggestions would be good.

      • All good. Do you have a TP-Link Deco?

        • Yes mate

@Vango: TP-Link Deco has a router built-in and is compatible with all ISPs. Plugin the TP-Link Deco to the fibre NTD. You don't need another router.

For those looking at the free FTTP upgrade scheme, I believe if you move isp or reduce speed within the first 12 months, NBN can charge you $200 for doing so…

LeapTel($74.95 for 12 months) or ExeTel($68.95/mth for the first 6 mths then $84.95/mth.)
