Seems good for a B660 wifi motherboard that isn't a very barebones Asrock:

Usually sells around $220:

Would pair nicely with the $155 i3-12100f or $240 i5-12400f for surprisingly close gaming performance to the $500+ CPUs (especially at 1440p or 4k). VRMs not great for i7 or i9 apparently, but nothing close to this price range is, I guess.

If you want the stronger VRMs for an i7 (or the option to drop one in when your i3 isn't quite enough in a decade or so for 20 bucks) there's this one I just bought recently too:

MSI Pro B660M-A LGA 1700 D4 mATX Motherboard $179 plus postage:

Seems the A version, which is the higher quality board, was named too similar to the more budget-end E, P, etc and is accidentally priced at only $180 instead of $220+.

Showing as $371 now, so looks like it's over.

Get the msi don't get this.
This doesn't have good vrm cooling coverage and will throttle the speed of the higher end CPUs.
MSI has full coverage for vrm cooling with large heat sinks.

  • Yep out of stock now.

My bare bones ASRock z790 seems to be quite ok… Although Performs more like a premium b760

  • MSI $179 at Umart also. I picked one up yesterday after an eBay scammer sent me garbage instead of an MSI bazooka.
Gigabytes may have issues with Unraid apparently anyway, which was my purpose.
