hmm, feel like getting it but my bike fits into my car so will probably never use it, but i guess if my bike ever gets dirty i can use this and it won't dirty my car so I will get one

  • How is this compared to recent repco deal

    • Almost the same carrying capacity. Repco rack 68kgs, this rack 64kgs. See my comment lower down.

  • Shows 9.90 delivery even with KF. Postcode 3030. Anyone else seeing postage as free?

    • Yep that's what stopped me from clicking buy, would rather wait for a repeat on the repco deal

      • If you're talking this one, it's still on

      • Is repco one a better deal?

        • I'm not entirely sure but i would expect it to be better quality than certa

  • Popped up as $17 delivery to 2289

Loving the photoshop of 4 bikes all facing the same way, I’m sure those handlebars just mesh together

    • It’s like stable diffusion and it’s output of fingers-limbs

  • +1

Good deal… if only I had a tow bar hitch..

  • Maximum Load Capacity 64kg

So if you're carrying electric bikes, 4 bikes will be a Yeah, Nah.

    • You’d be game to trust thousands of dollars worth of e-bike to a $40 rack

  • +7

Great timing. This will go perfectly with my brand new $11,499.50 bicycle.

    • It'll even hold 4 x $11,499.50 bikes if you feel like upping the qty. and getting a few for the family…

      • +1

Sorry, you’d be 4.8kg over here. And 0.8 over on the Repco mentioned above. And those $11.5k ones are apparently very light for e-bikes.

        • Hahah, with a cheap deal like that might as well buy four spare for when your bike rack snaps off.

  • Can this be attached to a Toyota Camry?

    • +1

Does the Camry in question have a towbar with a 2" hitch receiver fitted? Then yes.

      Otherwise, no.

  • I have ordered this one for Honda CRV . No idea about towbar with a 2" hitch receiver . Can anyone suggest good options to buy ?
    cheers

    • +1

I hate to break it to you, but if you don't have a 50mm hitch receiver, then you bought a $29 bike rack that requires a $500-800 investment in a (new) towbar.

      • Ok . Good to know 👍

  • My mazda cx-9 has a factory installed towbar.
It looks exactly like this: https://www.mazda.com.au/accessory-pack/TCACTB1/
    Will this work?

    • Should do unless they use a non-common receiver size.

  • Note - not that probably much overlap in target buyers, but this design of bike rack is not suitable for Carbon frames…

    • I’m curious as to why.. Would the bikes scratch each other?

      • +1

This style of rack will rub the frame. With carbon there’s a chance it could wear through. Also, couple of bikes on this thing and they will be smaking into each other for the entire trip.

If you have an expensive bike you usually want a rack that doesn’t contact the frame, regardless of frame material.

Carbon bikes should not be transported by being suspended by the top tube.
Whilst carbon bikes are strong, they are designed for specific directional loads.
The best way to transport carbon bikes, is in a carrier where the bike's weight loads though the wheels, with a brace to stop sideways movement, like this from Thule https://www.thule.com/en-au/bike-rack/towbar-bike-racks/thul….
There are substantially cheaper versions available.
