Not ideal but I watched the cutscenes from the first game on YouTube and jumped into the second with enough context on characters, etc. Was worried playing them back to back might have burned me out.

I would highly recommend it. Lost Judgement is a great introductory Like A Dragon game that doesn't require much knowledge of the previous games, and hands down has the best combat system in the entire series. I bought it at launch for PS5 from Amazon at launch for $79 and loved it so much I bought the Judgement Collection on Steam for $148 when it and the previous game got released for PC late last year. $19 for this is an absolute steal.

As someone who started off playing all the old Yakuza games on the ps2 all the way upto the ps4 and Xbox, I've personally played and finished both Judgment and Lost Judgment back to back on the Series X and both games are brilliant.
This is a great price for it indeed. I paid about triple this when it first came out and was happy with it.

their 2 for $30 page doesn't include everything. you need to sort by price and look at those $19 games.
That doesn't list all of them unfortunately
Just open up listing for all games on the platform, then sort by ascending price.
For example:

Finished all Yakuza games within 2 years… Missing those 30+ minutes plus cut-scenes. Hope it is the same with Lost Judgement. Will wait for those games to appear at Xbox Game Pass and play this Christmas

This is the game where in chapter 1 alone, you play as skinny jeans wearing 40 year old guy who beats up a bunch of high school boys to advance the story along. Would highly recommend this game to anyone.

Steam sales aren't what they once were unfortunately.
Especially in Australia. They've gotten worse. Consoles from retailers still have better sales.
@iLikeSales: The refund requirement allegedly killed the flash sales so … I have mixed opinions on that.

As developers treat PC more equally with Playstation and Xbox the prices have gone up to the point of being the same or more.
Cannot win them all I guess, just happy they take PC gaming seriously nowadays.
Except the bad ports and locked keybinding.
Judgement games released on PC only in September. Much older on console.
JB is auto-selecting a store in another state during checkout, while it says the stock is available in the store I want to get it from…

It told me it was available in store for many shops in Sydney but could not click and collect from any of them and now page is gone.
Quick update: I just rang up Forrest Chase (Perth) and got the last copy on Xbox. I did see a few PS5 copies on the shelf, contradicting oos on the website.
Base game is a solid beat'em up with rpg elements but the DLC has the boxer style in it which makes the game even more satisfying if you like grounded styles >> https://youtu.be/s8c6v6Xz7U8
Amazing price! Played the first one a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it. Bought it last night and looks like PS5 version is sold out now.

For Queensland peeps I just picked up ps5 at Capalaba and they have a few still. Also picked up crysis trilogy remastered totalling $30.
