So this bar is at risk of being closed down… but i thought i would post this as this seems like a genuine deal. I don't know any where else in Melbourne where you can get a $5 drink, maybe happy hour or a pokies venue? but probably not peak evening times.

Pride for Five. Five Dollars. Between 9pm and midnight Fridays, $5 will get you a Vodka Mixer, Bubbly, Pot of GOAT beer or Pot of Cider. At Melbourne's most fun club. Free entry too. That's cheap even for Pride. Good way to beat inflation and start the long weekend.

Also the HSP is not bad from the truck across the road.

    Pride is awesome! For those who may not be aware, Pride hosts a lot of LGBTIQA+ events but isn't a 'gay bar' in the conventional sense (i.e. only for gay people, straight people discouraged). I've never felt unwelcome as a straight cis man, and have always had a great time hanging out with a diverse bunch of people.

        This is not the 1970's. Gays got normalised in the 80's when Elton John, David Bowie, Freddy Mercury, Ian McKellan, Rock Hudson, Liberace, Martina Navratilova etc etc pretty much everyone famous at the time all came out of the closet. Maybe you were too young to remember it, but by the 90's it was all done and dusted.
        But for some reason, in the last 10 years this new woke hysteria took over and victim cards became valuable again… Look at me! I'm a special interest group and I demand special treatment!

      Not sure how you'd feel unwelcome? Can they tell? If we're not to supposed to judge based on outward appearances, how does one ascertain the other's proclivity? 21 year old me was dragged to a gay pub by work colleagues…all of the patrons were very friendly, I didn't pay for a drink that night, maybe I was too blithe to know I was being hit on.
