  • Thoughts. Worth getting or is there a better alternative at a better price?

    • Well priced for an IP54 hue/ZigBee sensor, not a lot of options around for outdoor

    • There are basically no alternatives for outdoors, at least officially. But a lot of people just put regular indoor sensors outdoors, as long as it's under an eave or whatever it'll likely survive. That said, the quality of the Hue sensors is very high.

      • +1

ikea motion sensor outdoors works a treat. it's ip44 from memory.

        • Are they slower to trigger Hue lights than the Hue sensors ?

        • Are they HomeKit compatible?

        • The Tradfri? Yeah it's IP44.

  • Voltage 230V, power source - battery? Doesn't sound right. Is this hard wired ?

    • I got one, it is battery.

      • Can it be hard wired also?

        • +1

Nope, but the battery does last forever. I have had my indoor ones for 2+ years still on same battery. Only had my outdoor one for short time.

          • +1

@Kommodore: My outdoor one has been going for at least a couple of years on the same batteries

          • @Kommodore: Which indoor ones mate? Could you provide a link?

  • I paid $43 last December for one, just for comparison.

    • +2

For the outdoor one? That's exceptionally cheap! I don't think I've seen them under $60 and I've been looking for about a year.

  • Thanks OP. Been looking for these for a while; good price. I grabbed a couple.
