any adapter for both iPhone and Android phone

    • Won't recommend it. I bought ottocase latest 2xu I think and android one lags a lot. That's because the box o my supports carplay and android services are translated into apple which makes it really slow.

  • Have this, works great with my Kenwood. Very minimal lag, just make sure to update the firmware before using.

This is a semi normal RRP though, lowest is $55.

    • Many reviews saying horrible lag makes me hesitate!

      • Depends on vehicle, worked great in my 2019 Ford Everest with SYNC3, and currently my 2022 Toyota LC300.

        • Mines MK7 Golf MY14 with MIB1, recently upgraded to MIB2.5, which only has wired CarPlay.

@mrgeckoz: It’s Amazon, if it doesn’t work well enough for you send it back.

      • I am very sensitive to this type of thing and I have found it just as good as a wired connection. Those with lag I think either haven't updated the firmware (which optimises it for iOS16) or have not located the device near to where you position the phone.

    • Great product, have it with stock head unit, works terrific, about 10sec start and no delays.

  • "THIS WIRELESS DONGLE DOES NOT WORK WITH BWM."

    BWM or BMW?

    • +6

      Definitely BWM…

      The Chinese knock-off of BMW!

      Beijing Working Motors

        At least it works.

    • BMW is wireless carplay anyway.

      • Wow all models ever made? Impressive

        • From 2017 models.17-19 models need to pay or hack to active. BMW and apple have kind of "special partnership". wireless carplay; digital key with iphone only.

        • BMW has never offered wired CarPlay, always wireless.

I've got this, works great. Takes about 10 seconds to connect after starting the car, then it works a charm. Never had any issues in 3 months of using regularly.

    • How’s battery life on your phone? I’ve heard that the battery on your phone can drain quickly when using these devices, as GPS etc are all offloaded to your phone (which is not plugged in and this not charging)

      • If I'm going on a long drive (pretty rare) I've got a mini charging cable that I'll use in the car, otherwise for short trips it saves me the hassle of plugging in all the time :)

      • I have same problem, also the iPhone will get very hot after connect for 30 mins

  • I realise it says no android in. Has anyone used with android auto?

  • Got one, has one day shipping so will have a play tomorrow. I noticed from one of the videos it is running Linux. Any security concerns with a device running Linux that has the ability to 'phone home' for a firmware update sitting between your whole life on a phone and a carplay head unit? Or should I just accept that the bad actors already have as much of my information that they need or want?

    • Unless CarPlay has a security vulnerability, I’d suggest you’re fine.

I don’t think CarPlay is access to critical systems in your car eg couldn’t cause it to drive into something deliberately

  • If my car doesn't have carplay, will it still works?

    • No

    • +2

Come on mate, the post specifically states the following:

Vehicles must have factory OEM wired CarPlay

    • Only provide wireless to your existing carplay nothing else

    • +1

I don't have an iPhone, will it still work

      • Yes :’)

        • Sounds like magic

  • I have the Android one, great when it works, so annoying when it doesn't, half the time it gets caught in a connecting loop, connect, disconnect, connect, disconnect…

    • By cable?

    • 2 things that maybe to look into, Bluetooth reconnect (switching off on phone and then on again) and the other is "time sync" between phone and car not matching.

    • If your connection is by cable, you need a better 3.1 USB cable.

  • good price worth a punt.

I have AA Wireless which is hit and miss with my Huawei Mate 9.

  • Showing as $99.95 now? Presuming the deal has ended?

  • FWIW I've found the battery drain is 15% per hour when using this device (iPhone 13 Pro). Down to 10% if you put the phone in Low Power Mode.
