Nope, used my existing Cashrewards account, just created a new Surfshark account when going through the checkout process. Made sure I removed any bundle options on surfshark website too, just the VPN for me.

Surfshark are very deceptive and underhanded when it comes to cancelling the auto renew on memberships. Just watch it for it, or use a burner credit card no.

Use the live chat link on this page and just request to turn off the auto-renew and they provide you with a link to do so. Takes 2 mins. I signed up earlier for a new subscription & used the live chat to turn off the auto-renew straight away. All done.
Also did this, you get nags to switch it back on whilst using the app but the process of switching off is easy.
True.. njot so much when using the browser extension which is where I use mine mainly. But this way you have the security of knowing it won't auto renew.
