  • I was considering it earlier.. my first impression was that it's not getting very good reviews? But I was just going by product ratings, not having read the reviews properly..

  • i am considering replacing asus ax56u with this 3-pack. anyone could comment? $99 is really cheap.

  • Cheaper on amazon, Scorptec has $25 delivery for me

If you can not pick up, $103 delivered from their ebay shop with this code.

  • Why are these wifi mesh devices so cheap compared to the majority of others…?

  • How do these work? Can it connect to the existing wifi network wirelessly and extend the wifi range so that the only physical cable that is required is the power supply (mains electricity)? Or do you need to connect it to the router with an Ethernet cable?

    • Typically cable as it broadcasts a new network.

    • Depends on whether it can be a part of the same ecosystem as the existing wifi router or mesh network. If you have an AiMesh router for example and have recently bought an AX Mini mesh set, you can integrate that into your wifi network and extend your mesh system.

  • At least one unit you need to connect to router with an Ethernet cable. Then other 2 you can connect to the 1st main unit. Yes you need to connect all 3 units to power.

  • We have these and they're very good for their price. There's a dead spot in the main bedroom and with one connected to the router and one between the bedroom and base unit, it has solved the problem nicely. Speeds are excellent as well though it was a little shaky at first, often spiking to max speed and then dwindling which I fixed by haphazardly changing wifi settings around until the issue went away.

I'm terms of setup, it was a little tricky at first (had to setup bridge mode) but now you just plug in extra satellites and the setup is automatic.

I paid nearly twice the price for a 2 pack and even then think it's decent value for money.

  • My experience with C0VR mesh system has been pretty bad. I would rather get an ASUS mesh or TP-link Deco.

    • Probably explains why the pricing is so cheap. It's probably one of those things where if you can get it stable and and working well for you home, you can set-up and forget but if you are having issues you are out of luck.

My experience with previous D-Link products are that they are good value for money when it comes to the specs but they are crap when there is software issues.

  • I have the 3 pack and use it as the main router plugged directly into my NBN connection. I also use the 2 satellites with ethernet backhaul. Without ethernet backhaul the wifi signal strength between the main router and satellites was too low between the house floors, but with ethernet backhaul each of the 3 transmit 100% of the NBN bandwidth for good coverage around the house. However it's hard to recommend as it's not stable and randomly reboots itself every few days, which isn't good. D-Link support had no solution and there's no newer firmware. The latest 1.07 firmware notes says it "Fix device random reboot issue", but it hasn't in my case. I'd say it's cheap as they are probably phasing out this old buggy model. Get an Orbi if you can afford one.

  • okay so bought pack of 3, took me 15 minutes to set up the mesh. i have updated to latest software version fingers crossed it holds up. not bad mesh solution for my parents house.

    • Any issues so far?

      • no issues so far! all 3 are working well. I went on their site earlier this week and noted that they had 1 3 pack refurbished for $79 - wud've grabbed it if i needed it as it's not bad for a simple mesh

Can you please share the link?

  • noo sat on this too long, seems the 3pack is out of stock or the deal ended early
