I’m very happy with my S7. It’s amazing how much fluff it picks up three days after the house has been vacuumed with our ducted system. The mopping function is not something I use often. Dragging a micro-fibre pad around doesn’t strike me as the best way to clean a large area.
How does it go avioding things like toys socks?
The ones with a camera do better. This would bulldoze a sock lying on the floor.
How do these manage if there's hair on the floor?
It sucks some hair up and the rest gets tangled around the side wheels and brush ha ha….
Mine works fine with hair. As far as I can see it pretty much all ends up in the bin. Mind you we don’t have anyone here with really long hair.
The “brush” is a rubber roller with vanes, so there are no bristles for the hair to get tangled in. The roller comes out very easily and can be wiped down to get it clean.
Works like a dream on long hair on hard floors. Cannot comment on hair on carpet. These robots don't tend to do a great job on corners/edges but it won't bother the average non obsessive person

I just bought the Q7 which is still on sale. Looks like the main differences between S7 and Q7 are with the mop function, which I am not planning on using. The dust bin is actually larger on the Q7 so that should be a plus! S5 has done it's time for us!
I also have pulled the plug on Q7. Sadly i did purchase N8 yesterday from ebay which now i have to retun

It comes with a charging dock. If you need an auto-empty dock, you will need to buy it separately.

After finally conceding the price wasn't going to return I went to pull the trigger on the Q7 Max only to find its price is back up too, damn!
