Up to 40% off (eg Canon EOS R6 Mark II for $3389) + $9.95 Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Georges Cameras

Noticed Georges Cameras' ad on Facebook, clicked through it because I was curious, and there it was, possibly the lowest price for an EOS R6 Mark II at $3389.

I've always wanted to upgrade my 5D Mark IV to an R5. Canon broke the 4-year update cycle when it released the R6 Mark II, which is making me cautious. There's every possibility that they'll release a R5 Mark II as soon as I buy an R5, so no, I'm not going to be that person.

By the way, who wants to buy a 6 year old Sony RX1R II? I want a RX1R III which is probably going to be announced as soon as someone here buys the II. Thanks in advance.

  • How much for your RX1R II?

    • No, don't have one. I want a RX1R but I don't want to buy the II because it's 6 years old. I need someone here to buy the II and that will speed up the announcement of III.

      • It's going to be super-expensive if the rumour is true. I find 35mm a little awkward for a fixed-lens camera. Would much prefer 28 or 24mm.

        • Everything's super-expensive these days. If it's too unaffordable I'll just keep using my 5D4…….

35mm is pretty easy to work with though. I can also accept 28, but if the fixed focal length is 24mm no way I'd buy that camera.

  • If only the R6mkII had higher MP to work with. Perhaps a future pixel shift fireware upgrade will help.

    • Yeah I feel 24 MP is a little low, but if they gave the R6 Mark II say 30 MP they'll undermine the massively overpriced R5. Or R5 Mark II, who knows when that will come out. I feel like I don't know Canon anymore lol….

  • +1

I went back and forth between the R6M2 vs R5. Ended up getting the R5 as it looks like it may get a firmware update fixing a few things (30 min recording limit, better AF). The R5 Mark II is probably going to be delayed to 2024 as per CanonRumours.

Looks good but the lenses are so expensive.
Plus I feel like saving up for the R5 mark II in 2024 will be the smart move for me…. I know it’s going to be amazing and having that extra crop factor will be nice.

    • RF lenses are really expensive, probably because Canon can charge those prices. No third party lenses after all.

  • (profanity) hell i just bought an X-T5 i want to cry

    • I'm so sorry…. If you haven't opened it perhaps you can return it?

    • They are not even in the same league haha.

It’s like crying because Porsche releases a hatchback because you just bought a gold gti.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Fuji, but when you add the RF lens, you’ll end up paying double the Fuji

  • Already got the r6 ii off Amazon for $3599 2 weeks ago :/ oh well

    • That's not a bad price though!

    • What lens are you using?
