Hey I'd say no car is worth $500k if you only want to drive it, but Ferrari still makes a living doing it.

Something is worth whatever your target market pays for it.

Also, why the upvote lol? Seems like you disagree?

        • +5

7900XT is the 2nd best amd gpu currently, and you call it mid range lol

          • @Masticccc: 7900XT is also the 4rd fastest GPU on earth…

            4090
            7900XTX
            4080
            7900XT
            4070ti

          • +2

@Masticccc: A titan/4090 Ti, 4090, 4080Ti, 4080, XTX are all/would be highend GPU in this generation. 4070Ti and competitors are indeed midrange. Probably upper midrange.

            • @John Doh: I said "currently", there is no 4090 Ti nor 4080 Ti in the market yet. As @vid_ghost mentioned above it's 4th best nvidia/amd gpu right now so it's no midrange card right now

              • @Masticccc: Does not matter. It's still a 4070 ti class card. Way below in the performance chart compared to a 4090. it's still a higher midranger. We are only feeling high-end because of the ridiculous price matching these companies are doing and seeing prices of 1300bux.

                • @John Doh: Let's agree to disagree. IMO when looking at a market with 30-40 products available, the 4th best product is no where near mid-range lol

                  • @Masticccc: Thats because AMD isnt competitive this time around at higher-end and we are still in the initial days if the release cycle of the current gen. If a 7900XT performed anywhere close to 4080, yes I would have called it a high-end. Unfortunately, anything lower than a 80series isnt a high-end card. Upper mid-range at best - ESPECIALLY considering the performance difference between 4080 and 4090 is so large. we are just getting this feeling of high-end as these companies are pushing the prices up and trying to sell these as premium high-end ones. Even Hardware unboxed has a video with an image 7900XT dumping into bin.

But like you said, lets agree to disagree :)

                    • @John Doh: its just coping, People are stuck with one of these cards or they have accepted that these prices are normal. either way, its just massive copium.

Was your comment meant to highlight how much of a rip-off video cards are in today's market?

    • +2

This card is indeed priced higher than it should be, but you cannot say NO GPU is worth more than 1+K just because you only game on it. It would then apply to all fields, take headphones, scooters, bikes etc.

  • I'd buy one for $550

    • +2

      Ok

      • +2

I was expecting around 6 negs tbh from members who like high gpu prices

  • +5

GPU's keep dipping ever so slightly down. $50 here and there.

That's good, considering the AUD is also creeping downward.

Have you considered just to continue scrolling past GPU "deals" without commenting? lol

    • +1

Foolish response. And meets the criteria of ozbargain. If you aren't happy with prices it shouldn't stop everyone else from benefitting from it.

    • Is a deal. You want the price to be cheaper when it's not, hey? Because older inferior models were cheaper back when, hey? Then wait another 6 months or so for the recession to hit and then you can get it cheaper. For now those of us who can afford to buy one, will buy one and we'll get to benefit from it way sooner than you. Gotta love my new 4070Ti. Sweet as.

  • thx op i bought 10 and will scalp them on ebay

  • This is a 4070Ti competitor. How much was the RRP of 3070Ti? 599 USD? This should be at best not more than 1000$ AUD in this recession with much less demand for GPUs. Sad times.

    • Give it 5 months. It will keep drifting down

  • any good deals for Nvidia 3060 TI range?

    Thanks

I'd buy that for a dollar
