Don't hate because it's COTD

I have a feeling these are last year's model, but @ $150, i'm not complaining. I personally prefer these over a GoPro. Can get 1080p for extra $100

  • i hate COTD but this is awesome !

  • I'd only worry about the qaulity of the lens, and the 2hrs battery life.

haha, these are terrible. You're better off paying a little more and getting a GoPro that can be used for anything

  • hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…. lucky i just came back from a ski trip because that is so cool!!!!!!!!!

I used these in Colorado in Feb. Awesome!! I used to have a Contour Roam but I hated how the thing hung off the side of my helmet, felt awkward and I never knew exactly where it was pointing, I had the occasional day where I would get a lot of footage of the snow or the sky because the thing wasn't aimed right. With these you know exactly where it is pointing because you are looking at it. The reason these are cheap is because the 1080i model is out now.

No offence to the Go Pro guy, but I dont fancy wearing a harness so the camera can be on my chest, or an awkward stalk on top of my helmet for the camera to sit on, or have it on the end of a pole aiming back at me. I dont need a speed car or motorcycle mount. I use my camera to get video of my kids and mates boarding and skiing. With these I know exactly where it is pointing all the time. I reckon these goggles are awesome and this is a very good price. I got mine from Amazon US at about this price back in Feb on special.

You insert a Micro SD Card in the Goggles to record onto, so you will need one of these to go with it. Comes with a Lithium Battery and a charging cable. Lenses seem OK to me, they have one for sunny conditions and one for overcast. I managed to swap them around in my hotel room on a ski trip so it isnt too hard. I reckon I am an OK skier and have owned many different sets of goggles over the years, these havent fogged up on me yet and I prefer them to my Oakley, Spy or Uvex googles.

Only caution is that you need to watch out what you look at on the slopes or talk to your mates about on the chairlift!!! The family holiday movie night might get awkward if the video is a collection of snowbunnies!!!!

    • I couldn't agree more. I bought mine off eBay the moment they were released (1080 model). They are perfect, comfortable, easy to use, you can still almost get a days worth of skiing footage out of one battery, if you keep stopping and starting.

My only gripe is, mine are now playing up (unable to charge) and the USB cable seems to be some strange end on it (not a mini/micro USB, something else) so i can't tell if it's the cable or the goggles that aren't charging.

Even with this, they are an excellent pair of goggles, and like 2ndeffort, mine haven't fogged at all.

    • i have contour roam. it works perfect.

  • will they fit kids , i might get one for my girl 11 years old.

    • They are pretty big for Goggles, I reckon they are larger and a bit builkier than my Oakleys but not much more. If your daughter is OK with regular adult size goggles these should be OK. If adult size goggles are too big or even marginal, these will be too big I reckon.

  • only if they could ship it tomorrow. my flight to queenstown is on next saturday (not the coming sat). but my experience with cotd is the delivery takes at least 2 weeks.

    • yeh i've got 23 days and even im not sure if it will get here in time
