is it strong enough for people to do activities on the bed?

    • +3

Not sure about activities, but it will at least hold you and a few friends:

Our Yona beds are so strong, it'll hold you, your partner and up to 33 other people (3200kg in total).

Damn. Got 36 people coming over tonite.

      I do papier-mâché on mine…

Can these be stored away when not in use?

    • +1

100%! While most customers use their Yona as their permanent bed, it can also be used as a spare.

Our beds are designed to be packed away very quickly when you don't need them, and set back up again when you do. Some of our customers even do this every day!

Additionally, due to the minimalist design, it takes up very little room when packed away.

  • Will the pattern of the cardboard damage the underside of a mattress?

    • No more than slats would

What a joke of a product. Will be a dusty mess in no time and a breeding ground for mould at the same time. If they claim no mould will form, it’s probably because its chemically treated so no thank you. Also Doesn’t let the mattress breathe. Will smell. No storage space under. Will host various bugs and pests. Is not sustainable at all and even encourage disposability if you ask me. And it costs like a proper, durable metal frame bed that has more features and no issues at all

I think the target audience is young people who move to new apartments a lot and may even move interstate.

I think it is just cardboard but if you aren't a slob and don't expect a 15 year lifespan out of the bed it should be fine.

If you buy a cheap bed frame and upgrade later, you will find it is very hard to even give your old one away.

Ned Kelly? More like Negative Nelly! 😅

We totally get your concerns. There's always place for some healthy scepticism when it comes to a new product, but a quick look at some of our FAQ's, our 30 night trial, and our 5 year warranty, should put a lot of those fears to rest.
We aim to provide a product that can shift consumer behaviour in a more sustainable direction while still improving on convenience. We've had great results with allowing mattresses to breath and heaps of happy customers!

Comments here sum it up fairly well. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/672878

I could make this with all my Amazon packaging.

On a serious note, does anyone have any real world experience with this?

  • Over $100 for cardboard…..you got to be joking. Save yourself $$$ by just throwing the mattress on the floor.

    Safe for bed wetters?

    • +1

Only bed-shitters by the looks of it

      • Surely not for diarrhoea?

  • +2

From $134… for cardboard that isn’t even marketed as waterproof lmaoooooooo

  • A fool and his money are soon parted.

10%… is that all? That's not much of a deal tbh

  • Dropshipping?

    Can I suggest a tag-line?
    'Sleep well with Yona'
…because 'Yona' is neither male or female so works with both demographics…

Many people think 'Oh, it's cardboard, it's weak'… I would suggest creating a viral video where a heavyset couple bounce up on the bed, or even have a single heavy guy jumping, and the tagline is 'Bounce on Yona all day'

  • These are actually super stable, you don't get that awful rocking feeling from it as you do with cheaper flimsy bedframes, especially if you're a 'vigorous' individual

Definitely inferior to a proper ensemble base, but these are way cheaper and infinitely easier to store/move

Seems like a great option for someone staying in sharehouses who needs a solid base that can easily be moved or stored away
