i really wish they stop recycling old overclocked cpu/gpu into new shells and call it a day

The phone has pretty bad reviews but it's still a good deal, seems like it is very sluggish (slow processor)
    I think I'll give this a skip

    • If anyone is still interested, Optus just pushed an OTA update which is alleged to have performance improvements. WP user says the update includes an updated driver from Qualcomm to address specific ICS issues with the chipset.

I don't understand the purpose this comment warning!

      • I think the fact its only 100mb data. Couple of apps or YouTube bids and ur over the limit

        • Yes, lock a smart phone in your draw and it'll use more than 100MB per month. Sell the phone and have a light use plan for 12 months for free perhaps. Doubt the plan is suitable to anyone with a smart phone.

I think 100mb is okay for someone who doesn't youtube or download anything beyond occasional email attachments.

        • (inserts generic comment about Optus network )

I think 100mb is fine on Optus, you cant even use it because of crappy coverage. Seriously, with 1.5gb available my last months usage was 4kb.

That being said, I am seriously considering this deal, the phones specs are pretty decent (except the single core bit)

Edit: is it normal for call rates to be more expensive nationally, and cheaper internationally?

        • Agreed, I pretty much have data turned off permanently (see comment above), saves battery and no risk of going over cap. Just turn it on when you need it.

If you're just after the phone, and don't mind a smaller screen, I'd rather go for the Sony Xperia U or Xperia Sola which can be had for around $228 and $250 respectively from grey import places like eglobal.

Dual core A9 CPU and Mali-400 GPU in both give them alot more grunt than the LG L7

        • sigh he tells me this now :P
jk jk, I would have still gotten the LG for the larger screen, despite what I said earlier, I don't actually care about the dual core/single core part. The Sony's are better spec'd though, but neither of those are (official) ICS yet?

The Xperia S which is the flagship phone has already got the ICS update, whilst the other Xperias are scheduled to update within the next few months.

Otherwise the LG L7 is still a good phone for the price, just a tad underpowered these days

    • does that mean SMS is not included in Cap?

      • Calls and SMS should be from Cap. I'd just be concerned of blowing the cap on calls or data easily.

  • Just FYI,

After receiving mine today and reading the supplied booklet it states "All of our plans have a 24 month contract term". I have emailed them regarding this and will post reply here. 24 months = do not want

Update: As suspected the booklet doesn't apply to special offers
