Not sure how good this unit is, but I guess it's the cheapest I've seen so far. Ordered one anyways.

    How much is it?
    Price in title.

  • How does it work if you have two phones, mine and wife's etc.

    Can only one pair?

    • Only 1 pair at a time. Mine showed up today . But mine is the pro version

  • This or Carlinkit, or Motorola or AAWireless?

    • Would not recommend this if you need just android. go for one of the android based boxes.

Thanks mate. AAWireless seems like the best option.

    • If you're just after Wireless AA, go for a dedicated unit, not a 2-in-1. These units hijack Carplay to provide AA, so they're not as reliable or fast.

I have the Ottocast a2air and it works great. I probably would have opted for the AAWireless since it seems to have better support, but the shipping on that was too long and I needed something delivered quick for a big road trip. But no regrets - the Ottocast works great - boots up fast, pretty responsive and handled the AA Coolwalk update with no issue.

I'm not sure about this exact unit, but I remember when researching wirelesss AA that the 2 in 1 units actually hijack Carplay to provide AA, which means they're slightly less responsive than a dedicated AA unit. So if you're looking to use this for AA, I'd recommend getting a dedicated AA unit. For what it's worth, I'm using an Ottocast a2air and it works great.

    • This does it too. I had to return as AA very very slow

      • Thought so. So unless you absolutely need both AA and Carplay, best to stick to a dedicated box - Ottocast a2air, Moto MA1, or AAWireless.

        • I support that.

          • @abs898: Any recommendations for airplay though?

            • @findthatbargain: I think this one will be fine for Carplay, but do your own research. It's only slow for AA because it hijacks Carplay to provide AA. So this could be good if you use Carplay primarily, but want the occasional option of AA.

But if you just want Carplay, go for one of the dedicated Carplay models .

          • @abs898: but you just claimed AAWireless is very very slow

            • @[Deactivated]: Where did I say that?

              • @abs898: Are you claiming Android Auto is very very slow, wired and wireless therefore overall?

@[Deactivated]: Check the whole thread that I replied to.
Using AA via this device is very slow and not worth it.

  • Agree, AAWireless is the way to go.. have had two for about 7 months ( one on a rav4 and the other on a corolla ) and it works great.. was impatient waiting to get the second one from overseas, so got a new sealed unit from a local ebay seller. Make sure you update the firmware/ software and enable the 8 touch override.

    • Any recommendations for airplay though?

  • I have a carsifi. It works well for just android auto. Magic button to swap between my and my wife's phones. By default it connects to the last phone used.
