  • I think I saw jv on one of these the other day. Zoom, zoom, zoom…

  • Link doesnt work

    • Seems the JB employees on OzBargain don't want it shared here. It's still in my cart but can't checkout with it anymore so it'll be instore only sadly.

  • @Clear I was thinking of getting an eBike to get to work. It is just over 10km, although eScooters work out cheaper. How do you think a just over 10km trip with this elevation would go on a scooter? https://imgur.com/a/remvR7v
Also any recommendations if you think it is viable? Thought I should add I am currently 90kgs.

      Doable? Yes
      Comfortable? Probably not

      • Thanks, so you would say stick with a bike?

    • Does your area have the Neuron/Beam scooters? Hire one for a half hour and test it out, if so.

Their operating range is not included in my suburb. They stop about 2-3 suburbs away

I run a Segway Max for a 14km commute, though not as elevated as yours and at the 10km mark you do get a bit tired from standing still the whole time. However, in my case I picked the escooter over an ebike just due to not needing to spend time to change clothes once I got into work.

      • With the bike I would 100% need a shower if I have to peddle at all, would just about ruin any time saving I get from it. I was going to mod it for 'offroad use' and have an accelerator so I wouldn't be peddling at all.

To be honest riding an eScooter for more than ~3-5km is no walk in the park either… if it’s a warm day I often find myself sweating after a long ride. It’s probably maintaining the posture and balance staying on the eScooter is more laborious than it seems.

          • @Dr Fruit: Hmm interesting, I was hoping the breeze might have been cooling enough. I guess with a heavy back of lunch + laptop + things in there your back will probably get sweaty.
I think you guys have convinced me a scooter won't do. Just need to find a bike now, or AliE a bafang one to put on my bike. Scared I will do it wrong though.
