Kitchen Appliance Help

Hi all,

Renovating a kitchen and I am drowning in appliance options.

Looking for a 60cm built in oven, induction cook-top and fully integrated dishwasher. Anyone have any advice regarding these 3 items? Looking for midrange items and not brand driven.

We found some deals on Asko for all three, and then we were also considering Bosch. We had a great experience in-store found these Asko products, came home and looks online and the negative reviews freaked me out. Understand that the bad experiences are going to be a lot louder. They're all asko because that is what the guy led us towards… another option was the Bosch 6 series.
- Asko dishwasher
- Asko oven
- Asko induction

Cheers!

  • We just did exactly this and ended up with the following based on multiple review websites and forums;

    • Bosch Series 8 fully integrated dishwasher (Bosch Serie 8 models are made in Germany while the Bosch Serie 6 models are made in Asia)
    • Miele Viitroline Brilliant White Oven
    • Ilve White 60cm Induction cooktop and integrated rangehood

We did go fully white - and fully integrated as it suits our kitchen decor. If you are retrofitting a fully integrated dishwasher, matching the panel with adjoining doors and drawers adds extra cost/time and may not be perfect. We found a good carpenter who matched it 99.5%.

It's been about 9 months and can't fault any aspect of the appliances for our needs.

I thought the series 6 and 8 were Germany and the serie 4 was asia/turkey. We will be building the kitchen new so hence the integration. Fridge is way too much to integrate though.

So your experience is literally what we find in most cases. People just being like yep it does the job and no complaints. I am trying to balance the fact that we may not be living in this house in 5 years time so I don't want to go too hard

So I deleted my comment about the integrated rangehood… but is this to say it is part of the induction top?

      • Integrated rangehood, also known as an undermount. The Asko induction you're looking at doesn't seem to come bundled with one, so you'll need to add that in to your scope and budget.

        • Are they any good? I was worried they wouldn't extract enough

  • My experience with ASKO ~8 years ago was pretty average - dishwasher lasted about 4 years before failing

Bosch is my recommendation for everything.

  • Meile are well known for dishwashers aren't they?

    Bosch

  • We renovated our kitchen a couple years ago, everything is Bosch except for the fridge which is Fisher & Paykel.

Installed we have a series 6 90cm gas cooktop, series 6 60cm oven, series 6 built in microwave, series 6 fully integrated dishwasher and a series 8 86cm integrated rangehood. Overall we have been happy with with everything, love the dishwasher and oven, the microwave has been good but being only 900w it's a little weak (not a big deal). The rangehood and gas cooktop were a bit of a let down, rangehood is noisy and hard to clean, stove is good but the decals have totally peeled off near the knobs, overall though both items perform well for how much we paid.

  • Bosch are great, if you can stretch to series 6 minimum, it's really good, and series 8, top notch. (In saying that our dishwasher is a series 4 but been fine for the 6+ years since we bought it)

We've found their aftersales support to be really quite good too.

  • Induction top sorted. I think I found one.

    Oven:
found this one from asko seems like a solid price drop. $1999
    Or
I can get the bosch serie 8 for $2050 + $150 cash back.

I have heard great things about both and then horror stories from both too.

Username would imply that you should buy cheapest junk possible

  • Bosch +1 as well

Have serie 8 for dishwasher, oven and induction. They haven’t had any issues and it’s been a few years now.

  • Apologies to the side track.. looking for a 90cm oven,. any recommendations? Not really looking for premium.

    • So… after my extensive research (posts on ozbargain and reddit and barley extensive at all).
We decided on calling the Miele outlet and they had great deals. I would say start here. We are going to go with Miele oven.

Aside from that the resounding advice was go with Bosch serie 6 or 8 if you can. Asko… staying away from it. Too many stories about bad customer care. They were purchased by Hiesense recently and people are a bit more tentative with them. Best over you can get is apparently a Neff if you really cared.

      • Thanks mate, I think Miele will be out of budget but still will check. otherwise Bosch maybe the way to go. Have you got any views on Kleenmaid or Beko??

        • If you don't mind me asking your budget?
          Oven we got was 1.8
          Dishwasher was 950

          The Bosch Serie 6
Oven - we got it down to 2k
Dishwasher - we got it down to 1.3k

I didn't look at either kleenmaid or beko

          • @Always think price: I am looking for $1500-$2000 range for a 90cm oven.

            Dishwasher ideally <$1000.

            • @dpassionate: Check out the Miele outlet - our oven was 60 so can't comment there. But the dishwasher was well in budget.

You can call them and ask what they have before going - they also deliver.

              I don't work for them.
