Blizzard has also announced that an open beta for Diablo 4 will take place from March 25th to March 27th, 2023. This open beta period will be available for all players on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

How To Early Download Diablo IV Open Beta

PC

Launch the Battle.net client. If Diablo IV is not already in your Favorites bar, you can add it by clicking on the + icon. Alternatively, you can find Diablo IV by accessing the All Games page. You’ll see Diablo IV at the top of the list.
Once you get to the Diablo IV Game Page, click the dropdown menu under Game Version and select the Diablo IV - Beta option. Click the blue button that says Install. The game will install and once it’s available, click Play to Launch.

Xbox

Launch the Xbox Store and search for Diablo IV–Open Beta. Select Download.

PlayStation

Launch the PlayStation Store and search for Diablo IV Open Beta. Select Download.

  On PC, if you CTRL+R twice, you will see the Ping (Once for FPS)

  Early Access last week, this was ranging from 20-120ms for me.

  Open Beta this week, can see 100-300+ms lol. Fun to battle the World Boss but sadly we will just end up dead with this server performance. I was expecting Queue times but performance in-game is another issue.

  I was able to level up 3 characters to 20 last week, looks like it will be a struggle for just 1 today.

  I also just noticed PC editions of the game won't have a boxed copy to preorder/buy and the Battle.net standard edition is a bonkers $109.95. Guess they are learning from COD distribution on how to squeeze the most money out of people, i.e. digital only to avoid retail markdowns.

  So if you reach lvl 20 and get the wolf puppy cosmetic, whatever it is, does it only apply to that 1 character you used? Or is it registered to your account which can be applied to any character when the game releases?

  I saw a YouTube video of it and it's kinda cute:)

    Your character from the beta will be deleted, so I would assume it is account bound.

  I was logged in immediately so must have been lucky. I don’t know about the rest of the game but the atmosphere in the introduction is far more Diablo 1-ish than “vegetables bad, meat good!”, which I appreciate.

  Difficulty has been low, but it’s essentially the tutorial (up to the first dungeon boss). Enemy counts and item drops have been low enough to actually make a good level of progression possible in the later game.

    You can pick a different tier if it is too easy for you.

      Everything above tier 2 is locked until you complete the campaign.

          @Mistredo: That's what I started on, tier 2. I haven't had reason to use more than one potion charge and that usually just so I can pick up another. Only just reached the first hub city though so difficulty might change yet, and the atmosphere is grim enough that I still feel tension. It seems much more what I want from a Diablo game than D3.

          @Mistredo: P.S. difficulty is improved once you get to some of the optional dungeons and events. Even managed to die once.

  Well made it to level 20 playing on the PS5 to hopefully get the bonuses attached to my account…. apart from a 30 minute wait this morning I've been in and out a few times with only a few minutes wait at the most so much better than expected.

  As I believe the characters do not carry over to the official release I think that is me done for now though. Been a long grindy day!

  Definitely good enough to feel comfortable in keeping my amazon pre-order in place.

  What do people think of the 4 skill slot limit (+ L/R mouse click)?
  I really felt like there wasn't enough skill slots by the time I reached LV 20, with only that many skills available the playstyles feel limited AF, a bit boring even.

    D1 was 1 slot
    D2 was 2 slots
    D3 was 4 slots + L/R mouse
    D4 is 4 slots + L/R mouse

    Its always been "limited"! A feature not a bug.

      D2 allowed hotkeys to swap between skills in each slot so you had a much more diverse range of skills available so you could mix and match combinations a lot more.
      Unless I've played the beta all weekend and missed the ability to assign f-keys to each skill/slot, that's not possible in d4.

      Incorrect for d2. You just have to bind more skills to different keyboard buttons (impossible on d3). I used to bind 12 skills no problem on D2 without any mods or 3rd party stuff. It's baked into the game. D4 definitely is lacking and build choices because of the limitation. But because they wanted to bring console players along for the ride they couldn't allow us unlimited keybind skills.

  As this has been asked multiple times:

  Did you get to lvl 20 and reach Kyovashad?

  Then yes, you will get the 2 exclusive titles and Wolf cosmetic.

  They are ACCOUNT bound.

  Your characters progress is not saved and will be wiped.
