  • Do these work with a Rhino Rack Pioneer platform with a backbone mount?

    • Hi mate, they sure do. The combination of brackets you’ll need depends on what you’re trying to mount. What are you mounting?

  • Hi OP,

Looking to mount a pull out awning to an off-road animal roof platform (https://offroadanimal.com.au/scout-roof-rack-to-suit-nissan-…) - would the HD L bracket & HD Hitch suit?

    • +1

Hi, based off the photos on the Off-road Animal website it looks like the L bracket will work using M8 channel nuts + bolts. Would just need to have the shorter side of the L
bracket mounted down on the rack to make sure you have enough space to clear the channel-nut space on the top
rail. As long as the spacing on the back of your awning is between 40-52mm, then the HD hitch will work.

      • Excellent thank you!

  • Odd question, would it be ok to use the wall mounts in the backyard for occasional use of the awning there?

    • Interesting idea. Never actually heard of them being used like this before - but don't see why not. Couple of points though:
      - Would need to be mounted on a sturdy surface to hold up against any wind whilst the awning is deployed
      - Would need to be spaced apart the same distance as your roof rack mounting points
      - Would recommend using the "lockable wall mounts" to ensure that wind doesn't lift them out while the awning is deployed
      - You would also need to purchase the XD or HD hitch to get the backing plate which attaches to the awning, as the wall mounts don't come with the backing plates (unless
you already have a set of hitches, then just purchase the wall mounts to suit).
