Anyone Bought from These 2 eBay Sellers for Roborock S7 Maxv Ultra?

Has anyone bought the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra from these 2 sellers:
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/255838738922
And
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/115591499799

Offering the cheapest at the moment but both are preorder for delivery in April.

Just wanted to see what experience you had from these sellers and their 1-year warranty

  • Just be aware if you order via eBay Roborock will not cover any warranty issues. This happened to me and according to the research I did at the time it was compliant with consumer law. In my situation the eBay seller did not respond to any of my emails requesting warranty claim.

    • I'm not sure what research you did, but if there's something wrong with a product you can almost always go direct to the manufacturer rather than the retailer if you're covered under ACL.

If the retailer offered a separate warranty then sure, that's not the manufacturers problem but general ACL coverage the manufacturer is responsible for.

Unless it's a grey import. From memory if there is no local manufacturer (and Roborocks are not made in Australia), then the manufacturer is the importer.

So unless you're buying from Roborock, you have to take it up with whoever imported it as they're deemed the "manufacturer", Robrock doesn't have to help you.

If there is a consumer guarantees problem with the parallel import product, the seller is responsible for providing a solution to the consumer. They can’t refuse to help the consumer or tell them to contact the manufacturer or any local authorised sellers of the product.

However, if the product comes with a manufacturer’s warranty, the warranty may not apply in Australia. Check the terms and conditions of the warranty to see whether parallel imports are covered. Manufacturers and their local authorised sellers do not have to honour warranties or provide support or spare parts under warranties for parallel imports if the terms of the warranty exclude them.

        • Ah yeah, if it was a grey import then it's a whole different story.

Roborock Australia exists, you can do warranty claims through them - https://www.roborockservice.com.au/login - and if you bought one at, say, Harvey Norman you could definitely deal with Roborock as their own importer. But if the store is doing grey imports themselves then folds then yeah, probably SOL.

@freefall101: Sorry yes, I meant Roborock or their authorised retailers (https://roborock.com.au/pages/authorised-retailers) then yeah you can claim through Roborock Australia. If not from one of those stores, it's not being imported by Roborock (or the authorised retailer) themselves, so you're stuck with whoever imported them.

  • Both are from the same seller with a dubious track record of eBay feedback.
In particular, this product appears to be a grey import that is designed for the Chinese market.
    I would steer well clear.

  • If you’re southside seekit does have a physical store so at least you got somewhere to send the bikies if they shrug their shoulders at a warranty claim.

I visited them once to buy some random soap bar that my misso saw on a Chinese talk show and if you don’t speak Chinese, they definitely treat you like a second class customer.

  • Thanks for the feedback. I was wondering if they are grey imports. I am in Brisbane so maybe I will pay them a visit to have a look

  • I would also steer clear of eBay (and more so, Gearbite). I would only purchase a Roborock through a physical store where you can take it back for warranty issues. I've had a similar experience as @gidxg03 where Gearbite (on eBay) would not reply to my initial eBay messages. It's now at the stage where Gearbite/Roborock will not replace or refund my faulty vacuum, despite sending them every requested photo and video. They blame each other and say its the other companies responsibility to solve. My current email thread is 50+ messages long - no one will take accountability for the issue and its been nearly 10 months since I purchased the item. Good Luck!

  • Isnt anything sold on eBay needs to be available, i.e in stock, not by making the buyer wait for the seller to pre-order the item? is this pre-order stated in description or seller stated by eBay messages 🤔

Edit: Well reading seller(s) rating, on the negative side of this seller(s), certainly a grey import, considering the price of these I personally wouldn't risk that amount of money and the high price I'd certainly would expect 3 to 5 years warranty on these, why the high price? do these do other tasks apart from vacuming lolz

  • Purchased the hairdryer with them before but it started to have a large noise last December. Reached out to them and filmed a short clip to show them the issue. They ended up sending a new hairdryer to me. The whole warranty claim process was smooth but the only downside was you need to pay for the shipping to return the faulty hairdryer.
