How to Limit Data Usage?

With the many 365 days deal, they seem to be the most cost effective.

I just was wondering how you limit your data usage to the monthly allocation. Say you get 180gb per year on Woolworths mobile, how do you limit that to 15gb per month? I am aware on android there is a way to limit data usage per month, but it does not appear to be an option on iOS.

  • Switch off mobile data.

This is always your best option if you're short on data. Get into the habit of having data off by default and switch it on manually only when you need it.

Having said that, 15GB is a big whack of data. I commute for several hours a week with data in use for the entire trip, navigate with AndroidAuto, listen to spotify, play games, and even then would rarely crack 3GB a month.

  • Flight mode will reduce data consumption.

  • Easy … oh, you should have said "IOS" in the title. Or just google it (JFGI) - did you think you were the first to ask this question?

There are only partial solutions, like disabling mobile data for Youtube etc.

  • You can reset statistics (option at the very bottom in the mobile settings page) every month on your chosen date. Doesn't look like you can automate it. You can also stop certain apps from using mobile data, so you don't accidentally use up too much data.

If you can't do either of these, then you'd need 3rd party apps to monitor data usage. Not sure if it's worth the risk.

  • Why you limitin your usage my buddie, bloody get a dual sim phonie,
Chuck in a Boostie from Cashreward dealie.
Make some $$ and enjoy your extra Data as some bossie.

Go on a bigger plan if you currently use more than 15GB a month? Data is cheap, unless you're really scraping pennies it's not really worth going under unless it's really necessary. If you run out, simply switch to another SIM a couple of months early.

Also install an adblocker, tends to cut down on usage.

  • Apple IOS was never meant for users to take back the control of their user experience. I'm afraid you have switch to an Android phone if you want the restrict monthly data usage, add warnings when close to limit, view individual apps data usage, etc.

For the hassle its way worth selling/trading the iPhone for an Android handset if this is the most important feature.

I used to survive on 6GB/month for 2 years no home internet. Data is so cheap these days. If you are ultra extreme just stock up on prepaid SIM cards when OzB has deals for 100% off or cashback profit.

If you are an IT geek an iPhone can be jailbroken and install a feature to display data usage from individual apps. https://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-unlock-detailed-cellular-d…

say, after you finish your 15GB/mth self-assigned monthly quota, then what? You will end up keep using the rest of data anyway….

1.use eSim for main + buy random discounted SIM for data.
2.stop watching youtube/tictok on mobile data.
3.buy a higher data plan with extra cost.
