I got it for $469 last year. Great camera, but I wouldn't buy it for $799 imo

I’ve got these too but I wouldn’t call them great

The live stream is laggy and, at least mine, have poor connectivity if there are a couple of walls between the hub and the camera

Plus without the subscription they are near useless

      I wouldn’t buy Arlo again

I use wifi rather than a hub so not laggy for me

        • Can you elaborate on this Wifi rather than hub thing?

Mine is laggy af and the app is so buggy

        • Yes I’d be interested to know about the wifi option

The hub is poor and when I was googling to see solutions to improve connectivity, the best options seemed to be move the camera closer or buy extra hubs

I didn’t see anything about using wifi

Can you direct us to some info on this option?

          • @parsimonious one: Interesting discussion. I don't have the hub and my Wi-Fi is fairly rock-solid so when I set mine up I will let you know how I go.

  • I got them last week for $499.50 from Arlo direct but that's because I had the 50% off coupon from them EOLing my Pro2. Also got a GO2 for $199.50

Do I read correctly that they cut support for your products and in compensation allowed you to spend another $500 replacing them?

      • I had a dead Pro2 registered so I got the coupon.
I have a hub with local storage and Direct Storage Access enabled
I wanted a couple more and so did my mum.
We bought a 4 pack to get the unit cost what I though crazily low.
        We're happy.

      • pretty much. they want you to upgrade (by spending) while they EOL your current product that is still perfectly working fine

    • btw, you can use the code on the pro 5 too

Wondering how you got the EOL offer for Pro 2? I tried to claim it on https://www.arlo.com/en-au/eol-offer-form.html without any luck…

      • Apologies, yes it was just a Pro, not a Pro2. It was dead and had been dead for years so I did luck out there

  • I bought the Uniden 4 pack ones from last deal at $399, the claimed battery life is 180 days, but in reality, about 7 days. Will consider the solar panels in the future.

    • yeah its pretty crap. I moved to Arlo and never looked back

  • What's the latest on the whole Arlo subscription and not storing videos on their servers anymore thing? I haven't noticed any change in service to mine.

7 day free cloud storage is no longer offered on any products after the Pro 2. You will either have to purchase a subscription, or use local storage to view recorded footage.

    • I got this updated email after the backlash.

On 1 January 2023, Arlo communicated our updated End of Life Policy addressing how Arlo would support legacy devices as they age. Some customers voiced concern over how they could continue to utilize the remaining life of their legacy product. More specifically, many customers reached out to us to tell us they enjoy the 7 days of rolling cloud video recording provided with legacy devices and don’t want that service to end.

We heard those concerns and as part of our continued commitment to support our Arlo community, we are pleased to share that owners of Arlo EOL products will continue to have access to 7 days of cloud storage. When your EOL device enters the EOL stage on 1 July 2023, your EOL device will keep 7 days of cloud storage at no cost to you. Arlo will also continue to provide critical security updates to your EOL product for up to 1 year after the EOL Effective Date. For a reminder of what it means when a device is EOL, please visit our Support Page.

Also, to say thank you for being an Arlo customer, we are extending the offers we sent out in the original email. The first is 50% off any Arlo camera or video doorbell (limit 5 devices) available on Arlo.com — just click "Redeem Product Offer" and enter code redacted at checkout to redeem.* The second is 75% off any Arlo Secure subscription service for 12 months available on Arlo.com.**

We know you rely on Arlo to protect your everything and Arlo is committed to providing a service you can continue to rely on, even as technology evolves. Thank you for being part of the Arlo family and allowing us to serve you.

Arlo backflipped and sent the following update:

“We heard those concerns and as part of our continued commitment to support our Arlo community, we are pleased to share that owners of Arlo EOL products will continue to have access to 7 days of cloud storage. When your EOL device enters the EOL stage on 1 July 2023, your EOL device will keep 7 days of cloud storage at no cost to you. TLDR: 7 days of cloud storage is still available. I have Arlo Pro.

      • Great, thanks. I have the Pro 2.

        • Only until 1 July 2023, then the 7 day free ends with the EOL of the hardware.

      • Yeah 7 days of cloud storage is only with Arlo pro and Pro 2.
Not with its Arlo 3, and rest of newer ones

      • I got the policy update email, and thats it. No subsequent sorry we wrong or offer. I don't think I would take it up still. The reliability since they did updates late last year have been atrocious. Tired of resetting devices back to home base. Randomly stops working away from home with geofencing.

    Very poor reviews, not biting.

  • $789 on device deal

  • Arlo get you subscriptions costs after you pay money for the device… hidden costs…

  • got 4k one and batteries dont last for a week,,,

  • Yeah, the subscription is a bummer! I'm sitting here with one in my car I purchased with a price match from Harvey Norman. I'm wondering if I should return it. I wish I knew about the 469 eBay plus deal. I suspect some cheaper deals will be on their way.
