finally jv will be able to see his meaning of life

    • No chance

    • Wouldn't even have to take off the lens cap to see that

  • Any chance of seeing my brother on Mars with this?

    • +4

      Depends. How big is he?

    • +1

Nah, but Uranus might be visible.

      • So is Mars your brother's 'special friend's nickname?

    Bk7 Porro prism

Took me several reads to get that correctly.

Should I assume that the 'smart phone holder' means you can mount your smartphone in front of the lens of this thing, to take photos? To unequivocally document all the bird species we have ever seen, my son and I have been looking for affordable high-powered binoculars with a quality (high res/MP) camera built in along with 'steady-shot' type technology—but (surprisingly) such a thing doesn't seem to exist. Maybe this thing might be a start? Although it's not exactly suited to wandering along in the bush and snapping away at birds …

I gave it a like because tripod included

  • Date it goes on sale?

25 March … so already. There is still stock near me, so you might have luck.

      • Yeah, Kawana had 2.

I bought one… Not bad for the money… the tripod isn't the greatest… bit wobbly and I'd probably mount it on my camera tripod.

    • Would it be any good for a shooting range to see targets upto 500 meters away?

      • Dicey… 😬

      • +1

With a better tripod, possibly. The tripod that comes with it is stupidly flimsy to the point of unusable, but the scope itself doesn't seem too bad. Question is what do you want to see on your target? With someone else looking through the spotting scope you'll likely get a good idea of whether you hit the target or not, but to be able to clearly tell where on the target you were, you'll probably also need reactive/splatter targets.

yep.. a lot better with a decent tripod… the one that comes with it is worthless.. the legs look buckled. it's not bad if you can get the mobile phone aligned on it properly.. you'll get some extra zoom with that.

      • +2

yet to try it at the range… was hoping to use it to spot game far away and record some footage. 500m might be pushing it. might be possible with the phone mount and zoomed in a little more…. you'd definitely need a decent tripod for it… the one that comes with it is absolute garbage.

    • how does it compare to their night vision binocular?

    • What is the focal length, possibly shooting some details of the moon surface?

  • Don't you love products with rubber coating that gets sticky after a few years.

    • +1

Rub isocol on the product to fix this

      • I actual use 99% IPA or metho and remove the old rubber coating if I still want the item.
Only had to do it a few times.
