  • A bit boring but its great that its that slim and has sapphire glass. The problem with the higher end Seiko's (6R series) is they are just a bit too thick.

  • I have one of these but bit too expensive for what it is…

    • i would agree with this… its expensive as a watch (sort of) but cheap for a seiko with these specs… entry level but its good enough for most if you can put up with the styling, white may be better for some

    • Agree I ordered a Cronos explorer (36mm) from Aliexpress for US$180 delivered during the anniversary sale. Plenty of other good quality well spec'd stuff around, some of the micro brands are great (san Martin is also top quality).

I'm surprised this Seiko has sapphire crystal, most don't for RRP $700

"normal operating accuracy tolerance of+45 / -35 seconds per day"

    Seems like a lot. Over 7 days equates to +5min15sec / - 4min5sec.
Surely that can't be correct for a $500 watch.

It's normal for Japanese movement. Won't go to that extreme in that range but from personal experience, it does lose a bit here and there. But your talking about Japanese movements and a cheap throwaway one at that. Can't really be compared on the same level to what you see on swiss movements

      • Or quartz.. keep better time and inexpensive. I've got a my fair share of autos, not only heap ones either; now am buying more solar/quartz, few G-Shocks and the Seiko chronograph movements are great too. All inexpensive.

Cheap auto movements are easy and affordable to replace, or throw away, expensive ones you should be prepared to Service them.
