Best price according to the camels.

Don't know anything about these but @jasswolf mentioned them here and Amazon's price is close to the clearance price they mentioned. Please let me know if I am mistaken.

About this item
  • BIG-SPEAKER SOUND IN A PORTABLE IEM: Based on the popular JVC HA-FD01, the Drop + JVC HA-FDX1 DUAL CARBON IEM employs the same premium metal housing as the original, with new tunings based on community-favorites
  • D3 DUAL-CARBON DRIVER: 11mm DLC DOME DUAL CARBON driver unit with newly developed diaphragm, air damper, and titanium metal driver case. Because of their size, they're able to move air more easily for a clean, punchy sound with effortless bass kick
  • QUALITY YOU CAN FEEL, DETAIL YOU CAN HEAR: The Drop + JVC HA-FDX1 DUAL CARBON IEM owes much of its impressive performance to an equally impressive construction. The driver diaphragm is composed of two different materials, each with a state-of-the-art coating
  • INDIVIDUAL CUSTOMIZATION: To really make the IEM your own, we're including three pairs of newly developed stainless steel nozzles: one for the stock sound and two for a modded sound based on testing by the audiophile community.

Edit: Price has dropped a little. Wonder if it will keep going down. Only 5 left now though.

Keep in mind this now competes at this price point with the 7Hz Timeless, the Moondrop KATO, and the Sound Rhythm SR5, depending on your tonal and technical preferences.

The Truthear Hexa still remains just behind them despite going for $112, just needs an eartip change to really shine.

      Thanks for dropping by. 😀

No worries! Oh I've left out the Tangzu Zetian Wu, which is along the lines of the Timeless, just a greater focus on timbre and tonality out of the box.

Lots of fantastic options at very reasonable prices.

    • Hey, you seems to be a hifi expert, could I please get some insight/recommendation of a cheap-ish (below $200) over-ear headphone?

for listen to music in office, so minimum sound leakage, something that's average and not bass-heavy.

      Thanks in advance!

      • Assuming that you mean a closed back, AKG K371 on Amazon when it gets back below $190 (ideally $150, there's been a global parts shortage), otherwise I'd wait and see on updated Bluetooth tech later this year.

If you're in a quiet environment and happy with an open back, the HIFIMAN HE400SE non-Stealth for ~$130 from AliExpress. There's sound leakage, but it shouldn't bother anyone from more than 1.5m away unless you're listening very loud (70dB+).

I am in a open plan office and everyone here is under technology department (coding, support, etc), it's relatively quiet, though there are people having MS teams meeting from time to time. So minor sound leakage is okay, major leakage is not ideal.

I'll put a watch list on 3Camels for the AKG headset and see how it goes, appreciated!

      • Shure SRH840A!
Has been on sale on Amazon at around $180 before.

        • Thanks! have put this on my watchlist too

    • Do the Hexas perform well with Comply ear tips?

      • +1

I would imagine that would severely bloat the bass. There's been a lot of development with non-foam tips so have a search of the Truthear thread and Hexa reviews on Head-fi to get a good range of views.

I have these (as well as a 7Hz Timeless, and Moondrop Aria, Starfield and Blessing 2 and Blessing 2 Dusks).

These compete with the Timeless and Blessing 2's. Tonality-wise, they are better than the Timeless but the Timeless has it beat for technicalities. However, due to the way that iem can rotate (so that they can be worn cable up or down), they tend to cause fit issues for me. I have to adjust the fit constantly since they essentially "move" (in terms of how they are oriented in my ears) with respect to the cable. With that being said, I gave them to my son who has different shaped ears canals, and they actually fit him (when all my other iems did not)…so go figure!

I don't have the newer Chifi stuff (like Hexa) so I can't say how they compete with this. I haven't listened to them for ages as they now belong to my son, but feel free to ask me anything and I'll do my best to answer.
