a loss within what time frame 🤔

  • +1

Thanks op, 28 degree price match Inc.

  • +2

These are same as ex mining card prices on ebay.

    • +1

I paid $380 on eBay for an ex mining 6700 XT a few weeks ago.
I think i would still buy it again even after seeing this deal, as it was in good condition and has a better cooler.

  • What price do you guys reckon would be a fair price to buy a 7900 XTX at?

    • +7

      1450

      • that's msrp… 1300 would be a buy but doubt they'll ever get that low

        • +6

          MSRP + GST is $1600+

    • +3

I paid more than this for a 6900 XT (the ASRock too) a while back. No regrets. If you can afford it easily enough and use it hours a day go for it I think.

  • +8

    6750 XT price is cooked

    • +1

Sorry, I'm not quite sure if you mean it's a really good price for it or not a bargain. Apologies and hoping for some clarification

      • +5

        cooked = shit

not sure how correct that is though.
$600 is the lowest real price its been listed at.

        • i bought 6700XT for 599 around late Nov 2022. Still haven't finished the build yet, LOL.

        • Compared to the recent 6700 XT deals, 'cause it's not like the '50 is much better. To be clear I'm talking about the sale prices many places are putting on this card compared to when they put the 6700 XT on sale, not just CentreCom.

        • bleep. Bought a 6700xt for 1200 after selling my 5700xt for 1350 when these came out. Sad to see it so low now but it has served it's purpose well. Good cards for their time, but their time is almost up! 7000 xt incoming?

  • +4

Hate these 2.2 width cards … you might as well make em 3 slot.

    • +2

It means if you put something 4 slots below them, they still have that 0.8 of a slot to draw in air from.

  • +12

I was buying some stuff in-store the other day and asked them about why they keep cancelling orders. Found out their back-end is complete garbage.
It's possible for there to be, lets say 5 in stock, and it would allow infinite amount of online orders to go through because it doesn't update in real-time, or fast enough.

It's actually best if you go in-store to buy it because, and I suspect, it's possible for you to buy and receive the card in-person ahead of an online order that was placed first

  • +4

    6700 price seems reasonable

    • yeah at this price I'll take 6700

      • +4

I paid $10 more a few months back, it's a solid little card and better than buying into the current insanity. Good for 1080p, acceptable for 1440p.

        • +1

fantastic thank you mate. and I can happily offload trusty old 2060 OC to someone on eBay lol

    • -8

I got the techfast prebuild with rx 6700, r5-5500 or something

      Is this good ?

      Lol

I have a goofy ah custom pc but it's got too many issues along w a very old z370m mobo, i originally got it w i3-8100 - i5-9400F and then i5-9600K

and brought a ryzen 5700x late December

no am4 deals cause it's outta stock and or obsolete!

So i ended up buying that techfast pc and notixed bpctech had stuff but comments were redflag.

      My xfx rx6600xt - was like $439+

It has terrible coil whine and it's completely cooked, I did an rma used my gtx 1070 i got like a month before for like two months received it bacm didn't bother opening it till a bit later and.

it still has coil whine and it's a refurbished product.

anyway I'm tryna do another rma now since I can be bothered and hopefully my texhfast pc turns out aigh.

Should I buy this rx6700 sapphire to setup another pc w my old parts for fam??

      Thoufhts?

      • "Thoufhts?"

        Go back to school.

  • Bought the 6700 from Centrecom recently for $460 and happy with the performance - but have noticed the coil whine is very noisy under ever moderate load with the pitch of the noise changing depending on load. Is anyone else with this particular 6700 card experiencing this? I've always found Sapphire cards to be on the quieter side - and just upgraded from a Sapphire Pulse 570 which was dead silent - even under load. Thanks!

    • +1

      I bought this6700 and I don't have that issue

      • +1

        Same, no whine

    • Which aib/board partner? Which model of card? Some models are more notorious than others - I remember the MSI armour 1080 cards had shocking cooling performance, for example

    • +1

My 6700XT has coil whine when I let fps go uncapped. So recently I played Tomb Raider: Anniversary (2007), had ultra-wide active, use AMD panel to set anti-aliasing override higher, and let fps be uncapped. The fps was around 580 and the coil whine was very loud. Played CyberPunk 2077 at ultra and the GPU was at 99% and below my frame cap, no coil whine was detected. So it doesn't seem to be GPU load for me, or perhaps the type of load causes it. My ultra-wide runs at a max of 75Hz, so I set my frame cap to 73 fps, to make sure it doesn't creep across to 75 and make it look like shit.

I did research before installing the card regarding coil whine, apparently you can improve some coil whine on some systems by splitting the additional power into the GPU's using different rails. So instead of one cord with 2 x 8 pin for power, have two cords from the PSU with 1 x 8 pin for additional power. Helps the load on the PSU.

      • +1

this 6700 only has one 8 pin so splitting power from psu will be tricky :(

    • +1

I've got this card in a very quiet desktop, and do notice it whines with very high FPS or in game menus. In games it whines a little, but can't hear it at all with headphones on and over other fan noise. In Windows desktop and 4K video playback it's silent.

Coil whine can be a bit luck of the draw, if it's really bad you should return it though.

      • I notice that coil whine is related to FSR. as soon as I disable it, thing runs quiet

  • +2

Already have a 5700XT and these do not offer much of a benefit to justify an upgrade - only a 6800XT for cheap would be much of an upgrade IMHO.

    • -2

Yes a 7900 xtx is hardly faster at all…

      • +3

I said 5700XT and 6800XT would be an upgrade… going from a 5700xtt to a 6700xt isn't that much of an upgrade pal

  • Decent price or nah?

    • +1

Looks like a great price for a 6700!

      • is this card good for 1440p gaming?

        • +2

gaming on 4k monitor with my 2060 here. upgrading to 6700 (if centercon doesn't stuff me up)

        • +2

1440 It's okay. You'll have to drop settings a little in some games to get 60+fps

          Dunno about 4k

          • @Nalar: Missed out on some good 3060ti prebuilt pcs. Should have snagged one of them up.

        • This question generally depends on the game but my impression is yea, it’s good for 1440p, at worst you’ll have to turn down some settings depending on the game. Look up some benchmarks on YouTube, especially check Hardware unboxed and gamers nexus, both channels are great for benchmarks and reviews

        • +2

super happy with my 6700, arrived last night (I ordered with next day courier delivery for +$15). I have a 4k monitor and I can play anything upscaled 1440p -> 4k comfortably, to me this is awesome at this price. really good for anyone who intends to run 1440p as they won't need to do the upscale

used built in AMD auto tuning function to determine undervolt and overclock values, and went a bit conservative on both in custom profile. did slight undervolt and overclock, no issues, runs cool, mostly quiet - but sometimes coil whine is audible. not a deal breaker

  • +1

    Need to drop another 50%

  • +1

Are card prices still crazy? I been out the loop last 1-2 years.
Would 6700 be a worthwhile upgrade from an rx580?

    • Card prices are weird, there are some decent deals like this 6700 but also still a bunch of overpriced cards floating around. I think it could be worth it if you're looking for an upgrade

    • +1

Coming from a 1060 def worth $450. I think there's some good value in amd at the lower end. Just gotta give up ray tracing and 4k but then you'd be shopping $600+ for a gpu anyway.

    • +2

6700 be a worthwhile upgrade from an rx580 YES

a RX6600XT is like 70% faster.. so a 6700 would be around 85% faster 100% if you wanted to go for a 6700XT

    • Still a little high.

This late in their lives there were much better deals on mid-range-ish cards like 6700 and 6750 xt, in previous generations (before the big crisis).

But they're definitely in the best-value end of the market, maybe only about 1.5 times the historical trend.

If you've been holding for years it's not too bad, but it's not hundreds less than what they usually go for right now either.

  • is this a good price for 7900 xtx?

    • Its honestly about average, not a bad deal by any means but if you're not desperate you could hold out for longer

    • I had 6900xt Asrock Phantom a very overbuilt card like an Asus, it was very easy for me to get a 7900xtx Phantom it's a beast.
A sleeper of a card without the Asus tax.

  • +1

Purchased Asrock 6800 around $699 September 2022, paired with 5600 and 16G 3200 16CL RAM. Played GTA V, all Tomb Rider (2007, Rise, Shadow), Collistor Protocal on 4K 60hz monitor. I Undervolt (900-920) and overclock (default ~2270 to 2380) my GPU. All games can sustain 60fps 90% with 4K ultra settings, but AA can only choose 2nd or 3rd best (depends on which games) and RT off. So far I have no problem with the GPU.
I am not saying it’s good or bad, since this 6750xt is slightly slower and cheaper than 6800. So make your own decision. 6800 Defaults GPU is pretty hot (90+ degrees and 200w), after Undervolt and overclock (~82 degrees ,~185w, 2-3% faster). You can Undervolt and keep the defaults clock speed, it can run ~75 degrees, ~165w, 0-1% faster).

    what an ugly xtx

  • Seeing deals like this makes me glad I bought a used 6800XT for $700 last November.

  • 6700 or wait for 4060 Ti in May this year?

    • 4070 rumoured to be rrp AU $900 in USA, no clue hos much here.

      • 4070ti cheaper than that already so that's unlikely

        • Really? Not been paying much attention but the lowest I've seen is $800 which is nearly $1200 au

          • @Nalar: Well Australian prices of the 4070Ti have been as low as $1200 (current price at Umart). Stands to reason the 4070 should go to $1k which is well below $900 USD.

            • @Budju: Reason? Not in this space.

You'll see I referenced AU $900, not US $900, bit of confusion there, sorry.

              • @Nalar: Oh right, you mean the conversion of USD to AUD equals about $900. Well that would mean a bit over $1000 AUD because they have some funny ideas about advertising RRP minus tax. Expect $1k AUD with mild discount I would say.

                • @Budju: $1100 with a free 1tb m.2 SSD is the best deal so far (Umart)

                  • @Nalar: Yeah the prices for 4070s are laughable right now. 4070 Ti already been sub $1200.

                    Wait a few weeks.

                    • @Budju: I committed to my 6700 for $419 and there isn't a AAA worth more of an investment anytime soon, so I'm out of this race until 5070's cost $500.

                      • @Nalar: Yeah I advised a close friend to buy the rx 6700 @ $430 very recently. I think it will be like 3-6 months more waiting for the 4070 Ti to hit a trigger price for something higher end.

                      • @Nalar: super happy I jumped on 6700 in this deal. I can't see myself upgrading any time soon. runs Mordhau at 4k 60fps, and everything else I want to play 1440p -> FSR -> 4k isn't a problem whatsoever. should I even want any more than that? nope.

                  • @Nalar: Reports from retailers are 4070s are not selling at all. The 900 AUD mark for a 4070 will be on us very soon.

    • If your budget is $400-500 go 6700. If you can spend the extra for the 4060 Ti then I'd wait.

      • +3

        4060ti 8gb ram, no deal

  • Anyone been able to claim TLOU from these guys? No response to enquiries.

    • I did, no issues, response within a few hours
