This 7 day cruise from Cairns to Auckland starts $424 pp for twin share interior room. Departs Cairns and drops off at Auckland. Effectively, if you are in Cairns and can get an air ticket from Auckland to Cairns in the $400 credit, the cruise is almost free.

  Important information …. TL;DR — you'll have to buy a VA/QF fully flex fare through P&O, and on VA it's $911 MEL-CNS return for the cheapest around those dates…

    Did you just check general flights or how can you find flight prices through the call centre?

      @Hansi i checked a flight on VA site, and I am pretty sure that for fully flex fare (like a K class) it will be still be more (e.g. $900 return - $400 credit is around $500 return) than what you can buy yourself in a choice (e.g. $350 return) ….

    can you use the credit to book any dates covering the cruise period? Ie a couple of days earlier before the cruise start date or a couple of days later than the cruise end date. Thanks.

      It's your flight. You can book any dates. You just pay the full flex fare cost (e.g. none of the cheap $350-500 fares, as they will be $900-1200 depending on your departure point). So go one year earlier if you wanted to …
