    • Not sure whether this security hole that took pressure from users and tech blogs to rectify is worse or better than Arlo and its end-of-service life policy debacle, lack of free support and cameras that mysteriously stop working randomly.

For nearly seven hundred bucks these speakers better sound amazing!

Seems pretty good looking 2.1 setup.

    • Not me trying to look for the link for speakers. 🫣

It’s not a big deal but everyone with the serial number can listen to what you’re playing

      • What do you mean?

        • It's a joke about a recent security hole in some of these internet cameras.

        • The eufy vulnerability of being able to get a camera feed from a user if you know the camera serial number, read the PSA post above.
It was a joke about mistaking the cameras for speakers which I now regret making.

  • Does the solocam work with the homebase?

  • Thanks, bought. Hate it when I will have to lose value giving up existing eufy set up.

Hmmm $188.10 for 2x Pro 2k cameras in this deal ( https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/767322 ) or pay $459 more to upgrade to 2x 3C cameras with Homebase.. is it worth the extra?

Some notes about eufycam 3 and 3C:

Eufycam 3 is larger in size, has a bigger battery (1 year from single charge), a built-in solar panel, anti-theft detection, and better water resistance, more expensive than 3C. In comparison, EufyCam 3C has a battery life of 6 months.

The Eufycam 3C is not a bad camera for the $400’s (at MSRP), it simply is insufficient by comparison. It offers 4k video like its counterpart and contains an admirable amount of storage space (which is upgradable), though it lacks the longevity of the Eufycam 3. If you aren’t worried about anti-theft or the larger battery, you could get this with a separate solar panel to save a few bucks. Otherwise, we would recommend saving up for the Eufycam 3 instead. The eufyCam 3 houses a pretty sizable solar panel. This panel is absent in the eufyCam 3C. The eufyCam 3 and the eufyCam 3C function with the eufy HomeBase 3. The HomeBase 3 comes with an inbuilt storage of 16GB, but if you want more storage, you can add up to 16TB to it.

    • Fyi in my experience battery/solar cameras suck. The cooldown period in between motion detection sucks. I'm now installing wired cameras with 24x7 recording as my battery ones fail to capture useful recordings. Don't be lulled into a false sense of security when you need to count on recordings for evidence

    • The 3C has internal storage?

    • Link is not for 3. Totally wrong comparison.

      • OP link is for 2x 3C cams and base for $674.10 vs link for 2x Pro 2x cams for $188.10.. or do you mean 3x cameras

        • Pro 2x cams are wired cam without storage. 3 & 3c are battery cams which needs homebase for storage.

          • @ace310: Pro 2 cams have SD card for storage but I get your point. The main difference is the eufy 3 cameras have a 16GB homebase for storage and are battery operated which can be a disadvantage as someone mentioned earlier — Fyi in my experience battery/solar cameras suck. The cooldown period in between motion detection sucks. I'm now installing wired cameras with 24x7 recording as my battery ones fail to capture useful recordings. Don't be lulled into a false sense of security when you need to count on recordings for evidence

  • Bought eufy 3C 2 Pack with HomeBase 3 from JB HIFI around Christmas time for $600. Great camera. Battery was charged in December and it is still goin.

    • What percentage is left after 3 months?

      • Never checked and honestly don’t know how to check 😊

I have the 2C Pro with HomeBase 2 all outdoor. Cant complain about the battery as they last close to 6 months.

The biggest drawback is the 1. lag in sending a alert after motion is detected and 2. Unable to detect motion if someone walks sideways to the camera but not in front.

    Examples:
    1. I have cats walking in my garden during the night and get alarms triggered after the cat walks past. Most of the times its the tail I see.

    1. Walking sideways to the camera when the person is well within the camera view but it didnt send an alert.
  • Many houses’ switch board are exposed unlocked outside. Make sure you connect them to an ups.

    • Pointless unless you have 5G. NBN goes down in blackouts

      • Yes I moved from nbn to 5G Easy neat and simple solution.

  • Thanks for sharing, OP!!
