eufy Security Outdoor Cam Pro 2K with 32GB SD Card $94.05 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ JB Hi-Fi

660
EASTER5

Insane deal - yes yes eufy security dramas in past. Will be replacing all my xiaomi and Imou with these.

Biggest sell point for me on this bad boy is 24/7 recording (1080 only though in this mode) - the thing that annoyed me about the xiaomi and Imou cameras was the short recording time and lag between detection and recording.

  • I've got an indoor Eufy, will add this to my collection. Had no issues at all with them and the app has been great to use.

    • Thanks, a useful resource

would just choose a reolink lumus, cheaper and better.

    • +3

can you give more info as to why it's better?

      • better apps and intergration with other value for money reolink cameras. had eufy in the past for their battery cameras and never again, tons of false notification, lagging app response, blurry image, paid subscription etc. until i done my research on youtube then settled with reolink cams, pretty happy so far, expecially their price for value and customer service. not to mention their two years warranty which is great to have. eufy might improved now but for the price, i will stick to reolink for now.

        • +1

Had the opposite experience. All the pro Reolink rhetoric on OzB made me curious. Battery life was abominable, 7 days or so - but it came with a solar panel. Image quality was ok during the day, shadow-vision at night. Replaced it with a 2c Pro (using Reolink solar panel).

          • @Shon: sorry to hear that mate, so far im really happy with my reolink cams. most pro reviewers on youtube recommend them too, so for now won't spend huge money for other so called big brands if mine still running prefectly fine.

I have one of these above my garage and it is amazing. Clear footage, smart capture, good spotlight and motion sensing, and 24/7 recording. I think at the moment it records locally on the device but apparently this year Homebase recording will be rolled out so even better.

    • +1

have one too, in a corner of my garage door. cant agree more with everything you mentioned.

  • Does this only come with a magnetic mount?

    • Yes make sure to mount it high up out of reach

    • +2

The metal base which is screwed to the wall (which the base magnetically mounts to) has a section which you route the wire through so in theory even though the camera is mounted magnetically, it's not as easily ripped off the mount and taken.

    Does this connect to homebase?

    • +1

No not yet. Your Video saves in sd card. Homebase update coming up sometime this year.

      • +1

"Homebase" is a proprietary system, right?
There's no way to record to an external source otherwise?

        • +1

Watched a review and it seems there are 3 options: 1) local storage on SD card, 2) Cloud storage, 3) NAS.

        • Yes Homebase is the unit yhdt comes with most of the other eufy products

      • Where is the information on the homebase update? Does the homebase offer anything other than a centralized storage and cloud storage?

    too much discount to refuse

Eufy Security by Anker Outdoor Cam 2K All-in-One Outdoor Security Camera with 2K Resolution, Spotlight, Color Night Vision, No Monthly Fees, Wired Camera, Security Camera Outdoor, IP67 Weatherproof https://amzn.asia/d/5Gev3fC

  • I know it says outdoor but can I use it as an indoor camera?

    • Yes ? Idk u might prefer the indoor pan tilt one for similar money if you don’t care about ip rating

      • I want to put it on the ceiling for my business so those indoor ones that sits on a surface is not suitable for my need.
I have the eufy 2 pro at home but I would like something that does 24/7 recording.

        • -1

Yeah just put it out of reach as storage is largely on card unless you save it remotely

    • +1

      Yes of course

    • The indoor version is clearer because it doesnt have the extra protection cover

Seems like a shit deal. I got two Imou 2k outdoor cameras with 24x7 local sd recording for $76 delivered from Imou eBay.

    • Do you have the link for your specific model? Thanks

    • +3

      shit deal

      2 for $76

Yeah well I got two Imou LOOC outdoor for $66.40 which I am assuming are the ones you are comparing to🙄 but imo the Imou ones are shit compared to the eufy and I am replacing them with these after trialing one. But each to their own.

Also , throwback to that time Imou ebay sent an ebay email with a bunch of ozbargainer emails in cc instead of bcc 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

      • +1

Mine is the bullet 2c 4MP version. Also supports RTSP which was a must have for integration with Home Assistant for me

        • I have 2 Imou bullet but prefer looc as smaller 🤷🏻‍♂️

          But replacing all with these.

        • That doesn't have colour night vision

      • Also , throwback to that time Imou ebay sent an ebay email with a bunch of ozbargainer emails in cc instead of bcc

        That was probably intentional

  • Is that usb powered? So have to find a power point for each camera that you install…

    • Yes & Yes

    • As opposed to… POE or…?

    • i cant seem to find power draw on this camera, i was wondering if 20-30K mAh powerbank will work with these for a while but to calculate need to know power draw on the camera

      • Hm yeah doesn’t seem to be anywhere, even the installation sheet… surely can’t be more than 10w?

        • as per reddit user :

It’s 1 watt during the day, and 2 watts when night vision is on.
Streaming to users of the app add up to another watt as well. I haven’t measured the power consumption while doing RTSP streaming. Motion detection doesn’t seem to increase the power draw.

  • Bunnings price beat?

    • bunnings closed today?

      • +1

        Is it today only?

        • +2

Sold out on amazon, still online at jb and few stores

  • Don’t forget to sign-up to JBHIFI perks to receive a $10 voucher code (if you haven’t already) and buy gift-cards for additional savings. Doesn’t stack with this coupon deal though.

  • Thanks OP, got a few.

  • I assume the 24/7 recording just loops on the SD card? I wonder what the max SD card capacity is

    • +1

It loops and I’ve been getting along ok with the stock card lol

      • Do you think your camera is better than this camera. Main difference seems to be the JBhifi camera is cable powered and the Bing camera is battery.. both seem to be 2k and IP rated
        https://www.binglee.com.au/products/eufy-cam-solo-pro-2k-t81…

        • How accessible are you going to make your camera? If access not an issue then battery is fine and maybe less hassle initially

  • Do these connect natively with Google home? Or do you need to link to Google home through separate eufy app?

    • Eufy app add to google home , bit slow on my google display so I don’t bother anymore. Don’t really need to though as the app is pretty snappy

      • Thank you .. I'll forget it then. I already have too many products with different apps linking into Google home .. and not that reliably sadly :(

  • Did anyone consider getting the JB Hi-Fi Extra Care: Replacement Cover with this camera?

  • Is this a POE camera? We are building a house and have provision for cameras outdoors. Will this work with those provisions?

  • The buffer and motion detection is impressive on this model, compared to my Door bell shes fast.

    • +1

Annoyingly if you set up zone detection, the sensor just seems to have a significantly higher false positive hit rate but yeah for $99 ea no complaint. Yet to install my 4 new ones.

      • +1

I've never had the zone detection work right at all with Eufy.

Doorbell sensitivity decreased over each firmware to now if its on 4 (of 5) poorly hits, and if on 5 smashes my phone with every pixel alert possible.

        And congrats, very nice find.
