New GOOLOO GT160 Tyre Inflator on The Market, Is There Something Better?

Hey guys,

Just noticed this new GOOLOO GT160 Tyre Inflator while looking at the GOOLOO website. It looks very neat and a welcome addition after they released their GT3000 and GT4000 jump starters which included a much needed feature I was looking for which was 100W USB-C PD charging.

Nonetheless, I know a much loved favourite of the Ozbargain community is the Xiaomi Mi 1S Portable Air Pump, but this seems like a major upgrade.

Quicker inflate time Gooloo 35L/min vs Xiaomi 15L/min Flow Rate
Longer lasting Gooloo 27.75Wh battery vs Xiaomi 14.8Wh battery
Both products use USB-C input
However the Gooloo also has 2A USB-A output
Gooloo is around $100 vs Xiaomi is around $65

Hopefully the Gooloo makes an appearance as a deal on here soon, it can replace my old trash Baseus inflator that can barely do 7L/min

  • But the Mi 1S Portable Air Pump is much lighter. Also if you want to store it in your car, you might after a corded version.
Also what happens for gooloo and yesper on amazon? Their jump starters were all gone.

    • Lighter yes, but I expect the bigger batteries and more powerful motor to take up more weight.
Corded is great for the car, but it's very convenient having a portable device that can pump up anything.

Looks like gooloo have an Australian warehouse and they sell from their .com.au website, so that must be why they don't have much on Amazon

but this seems like a major upgrade

Exposed top side usb ports. Have fun using this under the rain.

    • Couldn't you just place it 'horizontally' to avoid that issue?

      • You could do that or use it under the brolly, but that is not the point lol. $100 pump but it missing usb port covering?

Maybe I just love my Mi 1S too much.

    • Exposed ports is definitely an issue, I'm going to contact Gooloo after Easter and see their thoughts

Got a response from Gooloo Support, maybe they'll re-design……

      Hi dear,
Thank you for contacting our GOOLOO Official Store, we are here to assist you in any way possible.
      Thanks for supporting GOOLOO!
Indeed, if you can, it's best not to use it in the rain. Thanks for your suggestion, I will report it to the product department.

What do you want this for? Just in case? Just to top up tyres? To inflate 4wd tyres after a beach trip?

If it’s just in case, there are thousands of service stations with free air pumps out there and in many years of driving I haven’t really needed an air pump. If a tyre goes down, I change it. If it has a slow leak, I stop at a servo a few min from home and top up regularly.

    • Currently have been using to pump up bicycle tyres when I haven't been on my bicycle in a while.

The slow leaks that take a week or more to deflate your tyre aren't too bad and can be filled up at the servo, the fast leaks that take 10 minutes can't be saved either, but anything in between and you could find yourself returning to a car with its tyre all the way flat and the Xiaomi and Gooloo are perfect for those situations.

      • Fair enough. Don’t think I’d bother with one - would probably be in the wrong car or next to the bikes in the garage if I ever actually needed it.

Bicycle track/floor pump for bicycle tyres, silent, never needs charging, costs $20-30.

When was the last time you actually needed a tyre pump on your car? $100 worth of electronics/pump/battery isn’t worth carting around for me.

I do take a compressor when going 4wd ing though but it’s 12v powered and decent quality do it can inflate all 4 large tyres to road pressure after a beach trip. The compressor lives at home otherwise.

  • I dont what this offers over the Xiaomi pump that is half the price of this one that makes it worth so much more. I find that my Xiaomi is pretty quick at doing the odd top up and the battery lasts a long time. Great price bracket. An extra $50+ to gain a few seconds or a USB port isn’t worth it for me.

    • Out of everything, if you don't value the faster flow rate and the bigger battery, then the Xiaomi really is the way to go.

The USB port is a cheeky bonus, not something I would consider for this purchase.

I'm hoping a deal pops up on these taking the price under $60 and I'll grab one

  • I like how it magically filled up her motorcycle tyre that was almost fully deflated.

    • Camera tricks, it was all a scam 🤣🤣

Is anyone else here unable to take a product seriously if the company cannot be arsed to even take the effort to come up with a name that doesn't sound absolutely stupid in English? And realise that CAPSLOCK DOESNT MAKE IT BETTER?

I don't want an air pump that sounds like an emergency trip to the toilet.

Even in Mandarin, that name sounds stupid- most the meanings it can have are bad.

I've got the Xiaomi. Friend gave it to me as a gift, and I was totally puzzled as to why, but it's turned out to be surprisingly useful. Great product. I don't care if some other product has higher flow rate, I am not trying to inflate bouncy castles from scratch, and leaving the pump on the floor as it works is not exactly a hardship.

    • That's a bit harsh, I'll concede that the name does sound like a toilet, but Gooloo are a very reputable company and the products that I have bought from them have exceeded expectations in build quality, battery life, and also topping reviews that I found online prior to buying my Gooloo jump starter in 2018.

I wouldn't buy this if I already had the Xiaomi
