Moved to Forum: Original Link (reason: This is a free to play game and there is no history of it having a price tag. Check SteamDB)

Steam freebie: I don't know much about the game, but you know the drill - Collect for your pile of shame.

  • Is this always free or only free for a limited time?

    • Sorry I am not sure, hopefully someone can update us

Always free to keep. Otherwise it would have a limited time days left to claim counter like it does with paid games. It's not a paid game.

Is just one of the many totally free games on Steam.

Sort of like how Fortnite is free on Epic Games. But we don't make a dedicated deal thread for that so I don't know.

  • Comes up as a free to play title for me, doesn't say that it's a time limited giveaway.

    • It's an always free game. This is like creating a deal thread for a game demo. It's not worth any money.

Thank you. To the pile of shames it goes…

  • Free to play game. Not Free to Keep. There are hundreds of games Free to play on Steam.

This free to play game is also free to keep kind of like say how Rocket League is also free to play and keep but on Epic Games instead.

This stays in the Steam library for good. And it's not a paid game which is temp free to play only for a limited time.

It's actually both. Free to Keep means it's forever in your library, and free to play means it costs nothing for you to obtain the game.

However — Free to Play games can often be classified as freemium games, and there sometimes a Pay To Win element in the game.

Most mobile games and MMORPG's are F2P Freemium, e.g Diablo Immortal and battle royale type games

How to tell if a game is free to play (i.e. it never had a price tag and never sold for money)

      • Look at SteamDB. If there is no price history, it likely was never offered for sale.
      • Look at IsthereAnyDeal. If there is no price history, it likely was never offered for sale.
      • Look for the Free to Play tag on the store page itself.
