  I've always thought that my yearly rego costs werent high enough, so being able to pay an additional yearly fee for a number plate should help with bumping that up even higher :)

  Not sure who makes the decision for colour combinations, but a few of these are ridiculous on the road.

  Some of the colours are barely readable if the sun shines on them at a certain angle like silver on black or red on black.

    That's exactly the point. I saw a black car from a distance with no rear plates. As I got right up to it, it had a custom black plate with dark brown writing.

    That'll be good for evading hit and runs lol. Even a 4K dashcam would have trouble seeing it.

  Go get a sticker if you need to write something custom on your car. Cheaper and not limited to only the options given.

    I have tosser plates on my car, only to trigger people, but they are the “standard format” style ones. They are only $110~ish per year. These full personal ones for almost $500 a year are to out there and I think mainly aimed at tradies that write them off with their pies at lunch time as a business expense at tax time.

  Not sure if this is already mentioned by OP, did a bit of fiddling and it seems the discount only applies to the design/styling of number plates and not the yearly fee for having a custom number.
