      The Disc Edition seems to get the same $60 discount which isn't as good a deal (percentage-wise) provided you don't mind the digital aspect.

      Yeah I've been wrestling over whether to get what is now officially THE WORLDS LARGEST GAMING CONSOLE EVER or wait for the slim version.
      It literally won't fit in my TV unit, so it is being relegated to the office, next to my XBox Series S (which is one of my favourite consoles).

        Sadly for Bloodbourne, while you can play it on PS5 it only runs at 1080p 30fps, they didnt even bother unlocking 60fps for the PS4 Pro

    I've had the disc version of the ps5 for nearly 7 months now….. I'm yet to actually insert a disc (4K movie or game) in it. May as well have got the digital edition :P

        Cant imagine that add-on being very cheap. Will be interesting on future models though. Hope they don't split the disc away from all units to have add-on hardware

      Yeah I have both an XBox Series X and Series S. Because I want to be able to play all my games on both consoles I have gone all digital and don't use the disc drive on the Series X.

        I started off with the Series S, wanted and purchased the Series X at the first opportunity to do so (funnily enough it was mere weeks AFTER the Series S purchase). I did test a few 4K titles on the console in the first week of owning it (more for a comparison vs my usual means of watching the 4K titles that I buy) I have no inserted a disc in the Series X in months. No real issues with purchasing games digitally, I seldom buy them all at full RRP. I do think it's amusing that it's worked out that way, being that I'm largely a "must own it physically" with music cd's and bluray/4k titles.

        If just the disc drive, power, graphic performance the same, this is a good one to buy and wait for cheaper 4k player later.

        They do have special on digital games sometime, I think so far still not possible to redeem disc version on digital console, right?

    Shame. I would really consider a digital PS5 if I could buy keys from amazon or other sellers for the same price of the discs. I ain't getting locked into PlayStation's own store.

      You can get keys online from other PlayStation stores using a VPN. I got Cyberpunk for about $30-40 at release using this method.

      By the key online.
      Use a VPN to spoof location to the region that the key is valid.
      Enter the key.
      Game appears in your library.

      I do 90% of my gaming on XBox using Game Pass. $15 a month for hundreds of games and about 90% of the games in the XBox Showcase will be playable Day One on Gamepass.

      I bought the PS5 to play Demon's Souls (got it for $60) and Bloodborne (bought this years ago, can't remember how much). I recently moved house and haven't had any need to unbox my PS5 since the move.

      Sorry I don't game the way you want me to.
