Thanks for sharing the coupon. Has anyone actually played this game in the last few years? Is it worth the effort installing, creating an account and all that? I assume they are doing this to try to expand the player base. There are some recent reviews that are actually quite positive but overall it doesn't have the best reviews.

I put a few years into this growing up as a teenager and absolutely loved it, one of the reasons I had no girlfriend lol. Casual play is fine low level but anything high and end game does require a bit of a grind to get decent enough.
Haven't played recently but they've added a ton of new content to the game. I would 100% recommend checking it out.

Thanks for the response. I suppose it's not like COD, 15GB isn't too bad. Downloading now.

It's an old game to be fair, graphics aren't amazing. But the unique stories and world environment make up for it. All those quest packs for free is really good value, you won't have to purchase anything else. I'd recommend Orien (highest popoulation), Argonnessen (my old server), or Khyber.

      • I played for quite a few years when it started with CodeMasters and when it moved to Mobage… lost track of it sometime after that. And of course, looks like if you didn't keep on the transfer roundabout you lose your account, etc.

Was a fun game and I might just start from scratch.

Most painful account creation ever. Don't know what's going on.

Edit: Finally working. Hope it's no indicator of the speed of their servers etc. Seemed like you had to wait for the password creation/reset to update via carrier pigeon or something.

    • Yep, I've been trying to sign up for the last hour. Keep getting "HTTP ERROR 500". Has anyone had success in creating an account?
Edit: Okay, just saw your update. I'll keep trying. Cheers!

Most painful experience ever. Seems like every step had a different web page that you had to put your password into again and again. When they mean go to the DDO store, you need to click on Buy Account Upgrades. Maybe I just haven't had enough coffee but I was looking everywhere for the longest time.

        • Many thanks for the heads-up. I'll need that once I can finally create an account (it appears to be a server error, so maybe they're currently overloaded).

  • Is anyone having trouble making an account? It keeps reloading the page when clicking 'next'.

    • Maybe try a different browser? I had sooo much trouble making the account, having it accept my password.

      • Make sure your username and password follow the requirement, otherwise there are error icon next to text box you need to hover over

Check this page as well https://steamcommunity.com/app/206480/discussions/0/25731940…

        • All websites should say if they have an upper limit for their passwords. Really hate it when they don't.

          • @ozbs25: they have it, but its not obvious that you need to hover over on the error icon.
maybe thats the design standard when they build this website in the 70s.
