  • Great price. Got one.

  • +1

Having issues paying through paypal too

Since this was going to be an impulse buy - it must be a sign not to buy! :)

  • +1

In the spirit of Ozb, got one. Talk about impulse buy.

  • They were giving away mini versions (run on CR4s) during Vivid Sydney a few months back. Pretty awesome deal for just a FB LIKE!

    • V2 Keyfinders - got myself 4 of em, pretty crummy 18 lumen though.

      • True ozbargainer: not satisfied with a freebie.

  • -1

Thanks OP! Bought 1 (actually 2!) and recommended to a bunch of friends/colleagues.
They are brilliant torch, already own a P7 and 3 other Led Lenser series….

  • I'm a confessed torch junkie myself. I have several Romisens … what kicks ass about this deal is that the life is 64 hours… that's sweet!
    Thanks QQQ

    • Be aware that 64 hours is all the way down to 1 lumen. In other words, you don't get anywhere even remotely close to that at full brightness.

  • Great buy. One for me one for my Dad for fathers day. Now to impulse buy canon 24-105 or 24-70 Mk 1 come on ozbargin give me an even better reason to ;)

  • Got another one for my brother in-law as it is such a good deal. It will be a surprise for him.

  • One for father, one for father-in-law & one for me. Deal.

  • +1

One for me and one for father! Thanks OP! Good deal.

    • What I did too haha

  • Complete impulse buy. Still, might be something good to keep in the boot of the car in case.

    • +3

      Link or go home.
I just went to find this exact torch after your suggestion and wasted my time (its not there).

If you are going to make a statement like that and go against 100+ votes, back it up with facts.

I'll revoke my neg if you do so.

Edit: Ended up buying the OP's one anyway. Thanks CatchOfTheDay!

      • I hope u didnt look up "srs" torches on DX - I think he is using srs in the context of "serious"

        • nup…. "led lenser", "lenser", "t7" etc etc…. wont come up.

        • -7

LOL … UFO you angry dude…

What I meant was you will find better torches on dealextreme.. not this exact torch.

BTW i couldnt give a flying F about the neg, neg me until the cows come home…

        • Or more, you'll find more powerful torches that work well for 10 minutes then becoming dodgy and unreliable.

        • Phhf, Ive been using the same torches, bike lights for years now.

Go back to using your lemon torch 2.0

Here is the x2000… do yourself a favour

          http://www.dealextreme.com/p/x2000-flood-to-throw-zooming-gl…

        • +1

That torch is only pulling around 800mA with CREE XR-E P4, which means it's putting out LESS than 200 lumens, and uses a shitty generic aspheric zooming setup (which means it loses most of it's output when zoomed out).

Hardly an example of an excellent torch.

        • +1

Admittedly that torch is pretty good.

The downside was that of the 8 orders I made with deal extreme that was the only one that came through after a month and they kept on telling me to wait just a couple of weeks more each time I contacted them about the other ones. After 6 months I just got a refund instead - not ordering from deal extreme again.

        • +1

LOL, you are comparing Led lenser to these dealxtreme torch :). A good torch is not all about Lumen mate.

        • +1

          Nah dude, I'm not angry.

It's just that you claimed this deal was "average", so I listened to your advice and googled the website you suggested.

You didnt say "there are better torches elsewhere". It's pretty clear that you thought this wasnt a bargain, and its lucky I stopped wasting time and bought this one before it expired.

Over 132 people (plus votes) disagree with your opinion, so dont be offended by a few negs to your above comments.

Especially since you are now inviting them to do so :).

  • +1

64 hour battery life is nice, will chuck in some eneloops and give to dad for fathers day :)

  • I jumped on this, thanks OP

  • -1

4 x AAA's? Gee what year is this 1987? Rechargable lithium is where its at, 18650 using torches all the way. Looks a nice torch but I'll stick with my existing ones for now. :-)

    • +1

It depends on how you use it.

batteries like 18650's are annoying to charge, get replacement batteries for and not as safe.

It makes perfect sense if you plan to use your flashlight a lot.

I'm guessing most of us only use it on special occasions which makes AAA's better IMO.

      • Annoying to charge? what the hell.. you slam them in a charger and omg.. they charge..

        • +2

          I'll rephrase that.

You need to buy a proper 18650 charger, all the dealextreme chargers are fire hazards. If you have a DX charger you need to watch it the whole time to make sure it doesn't catch fire.

If the DX charger does overcharge your batteries and they are not protected or the protection didn't work it can explode in your hand while you are using the flashlight and injure you. (this has happened before to people)

If you don't use it very often, you just put in some fresh non rechargeable AAA's and enjoy it for the next 6-12 months.

    • Just get rechargeable AAA's if rechargeable is what you need. Granted, AA's would have been better, but I don't think it's a huge issue.

  • I have just also purchased 2 however I am a little worried that these MAY not be the latest models….it says these have a LED: High End Power LED however I believe the latest offerings from led lenser (and according to their website) have a LED: CREE LED. Can anyone confirm of deny that these use a CREE LED???

  • -1

So, those cheaper in ebays are fakes?

  • Another impulse buy thanks to OzBargain :/

  • Got one, thanks. My 3rd LED Lenser actually. Great torches.

  • Impulse buy yet again, as i -may- need it in a years time! Thanks for the discount QQQ!

  • LOL check out the disclaimer on the Led Lenser site

    http://www.ledlenser.com.au/2009/index.php

Are COTD an "authorised dealer"? Not that I think it matters at this price!

  • sold out when trying to do check out..

  • Had it in the cart, now sold out! just as well buying torches can be an addiction.

  • :( Soldout!
QQQ Any more available? I was too busy working and didnt check early enough this morning!

  • Aww missed it, good deal.

  • Sold out quick,was a good deal.

  • +3

Thanks QQQ for the deal!! This is my first time buy on CatchoftheDay, and I really hope this experience would be a good one, contrary to what many have experienced from other CoD deals.

Also, can anyone tell me what's the difference between this t7 titanium and the cheaper t7 on ebay? just the silver titanium colour?

    Cheers!

  • Got 2 on an impulse - damn you Ozb.

  • +2

Regulated power supply is where it's at. LL don't do it.

Had LL P7 once. Supplied batteries leaked within about 3 weeks of purchase, and nobody wanted to know about it. Warranty doesn't cover leaking batteries they said. Now got a Fenix TK41 and LOVE it.

    • -1

All batteries leak after a period of time! That's why I never use supplied batteries.

    • +2

      Agreed. Fenix FTW.

  • hew~~that was hard to resist, I knew if I bought it I probabaly would never get a chance to use it….now its gone, peace of mind..

  • +3

LOL I have no idea why I bought one of these. Last time I used a torch was in 1997!! Damn you OZB +1

  • Does anyone know if there is a Lampshade or a White Diffuser accessory for this Led Lenser t7 ??

Just like the Fenix has a White Diffuser for theirs:
Fenix AD102-W Flashlight Torch White Diffuser Cap Tip at 39.7mm diameter..

Has anyone used this Fenix one on their LL T7? (the head diameter on LL T7 is 35.56mm so I wonder if it can still work?)

Would if I can use this as a temporary lampshade with this attachment!

  • How long will shipping take?
Can someone tell me an estimate? :)
    Thx

    • +4

Being COTD about a month at least.

    • I bought the ski goggles last week (2nd or 3rd - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/76424). They arrived today.

      • did your tracking make any progress? mine says it is still in vic… and im in brisbane too.

        • Hi, I actually live in the ACT now, didn't realise I had Brisbane visible here. Mine said VIC until this morning when it hit an ACT suburb. Your's might update once it gets closer to Brisbane / hits a depot?

        • Hehe Yeah sometimes the tracking update's a bit delayed. I ordered a watch from COTD, got mine two days after it's dispatched. The interesting thing is that I got a tracking update that the item arrived at post office five days after I got it.. :)

        • Thanks for the reply, good to know that it doesn't change until it hits your area, it is just so annoying to track something that doesn't move for 4 days….. good old australia post…

        • +4

It is usually moving, once sorted into ULD's (basically a metal pallet with a cage ontop)they aren't touched until they reach the final sorting destination, that's when its usually scanned again.

It would create well over double the workload if every item was scanned in and out of each depot as it makes its way to you via linehaul.

Majority of the time, say if i send an item from Brisbane to Adelaide as an example, it is loaded onto a B-double at the linehaul depot, then driven directly to Sydney (well driven to Coffs Harbour then a Newcastle driver takes it to Newcastle then another Newcastle driver takes it to Chullora) Its then dismantled, product bound for other states are removed except SA, then more product for SA is loaded on, a Chullora driver takes it to a place called Hay, where they changeover with an Adelaide driver, then driven to Adelaide, then goes into sorting, then transferred out to your local DC then to your door.

The ULD's themselves are barcoded, and tracked throughout the system, so they know what is in each ULD (items that are trackable) and its approximate location, its then tied to the Trucks GPS tag, then they know exactly where it is with approx 2m at any stage. However these events are not displayed on the customer tracking for security, although it is displayed on the internal tracking.

So while it may look like on the tracking nothing is happening, in reality it is almost always consistantly moving.

Thats how they can do Brisbane to Adelaide in 2-3 days, Melb to Brisbane 2-3 days and so on. Capital to capital is quite fast, what can delay items is if they are missorted (happens all the time) then they do the Australia wide tour till someone notices and corrects it.

Not unusual to have an item bound for say perth, end up in a Darwin ULD, then it goes to Darwin, is discovered there, resorted, back to Brisbane, then to Sydney, then on a contractors truck for perth.

    • Thanks guys for the comment,
I received notification of shipment already?
Expected delivery 3-9 working days with tracking?

      Status: Manifested

      • +1

When it comes up as manifested, it means the sender has printed out the eparcel delivery sticker and has been issued the number within the Auspost portal. Usually then its either collected by a driver or taken to a postoffice/business center, where it then goes into the parcel network. Generally you will see a lodgement scan anytime after 6pm that day if it made the final cutoff (this is dependant on the businesses agreement) then it travels through the network as normal.

COTD get several pickups a day from Melbourne Linehaul and Melbourne Transport, so provided it was picked up on friday by Australia Post, you will see it anywhere from Monday to Thursday, depending on your location. Most product does travel during the weekend (linehaul is a 24x7 operation, it is never shut)

  • +2

Hope cotd will restock these in a day or 2, they usually get more high in deans items.

Earlier commentators here have noted that the torch is NOT regulated, unlike other [better] torches; so output drops over time. (Check this older candlepower review & more recent comments).

4xAAA Alkis contains less than 7.2Wh, giving around half the 64 hours on low at a flat (200L/130%)x15% ~ 23L @ ~100L/W. Rechargeables, with a flatter output keep up lumens better, but cut out suddenly.

Perhaps someone who purchases a couple of torches could, using alkis, initially compare output from both, then run one for an hour on high - not boost - next compare that output with the light from their second torch. Repeat after a further hour, & perhaps include a third comparison on Low [15%] output. Many might be interested, particularly for future purchases.

    • get mythbusters to do it

      no…srs

    • Or just get a regulated one and know that you will get the stated lumens till the batteries can't handle it.

    • What's the difference between P7 and T7?

      • T stands for titanium colour rather than titanium metal. P stands for hmmm standard black, lol.

      • Actually T stands for tactical in that when you depressed the button at any level to quickly get to the turbo (max) level.

      • T7 has more grip, its a 'tactical' version that can be mounted on rifles/bikes where vibration is a concern

    • I don't believe Led Lenser has regulated circuitry. This is pros and cons again. I personally likes regulated circuitry and 90% of my torches are regulated.

      • The M7 is the regulated version of the P7/T7 family.

  • Email from COTD: Dispatched!

  • +1

My two have been dispatched :).

  • If anyone in Melbourne is regretting their (impulse) purchase, I'll buy it off your hands. Would like a nice torch to try out light painting…

    • Haha that's why I bought mine as well :)

  • already received. looks good, might keep it

    • How dare Auspost deliver to your suburb first.

      • +1

Torch arrived. Included duracell alkalines were flat. Torch has a ringy beam. This shouldn't be the case as I once had a LL P7 that had a perfectly smooth beam (which I gifted away). Not everyone is going to care about this, but unfortunately I do.

        • Possible counterfeit because of inferior quality? Any idea how to tell?
Not trying to accuse COTD, but it could be the suppliers are dodgey.. I haven't seen a titanium version T7 on the led lenser website at all :|
Since apparently T means the tactical version (the P7 and T7 from the pictures on the LL website seem to be both black, but have different grips and somewhat slightly different smooth and rough finishes at the edges of each component)
What suburbs is this btw? (at least what state or city?)

        • +2

I'll echo the same sentiment that many others have within the flashlight enthusiast community regarding possibly fake Led Lensers: it might as well be genuine. In other words, if it's fake it's such a good fake that there's really no difference.

The titanium finish is definitely available through offical retail channels. In fact if you look through the media sections of both the Australian and German sites, you'll find pictures and videos of lights with titanium finishes (and even other colours) that don't feature on their respective product pages. LL probably chose to picture the black finish simply because it's the most popular, and probably also for consistency.

The "ringy beam" issue is also reported by some who've purchased genuine products from authorized sellers. It not a MAJOR issue, and probably varies across batches or something. Who knows.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to mention: I'm in Melbourne. So is the COTD warehouse. That's why some of us Melbournians are receving our orders today.

        • Judging by the flat batteries I guess the stock is very very old?

        • This is definitely not fake judging from the quality of the torch, the packaging, and the quality of the nylon pouch.

        • I just got my torch delivery, located in Sydney.
          Very quick delivery.
There is a 5 year warranty on this, I was going to shoot off an email to zenimports to verify the serial number wherever it is (I can't find it) as suggested here http://myswag.org/forum/index.php?topic=21409.0
But it looks like these come from zenimports.com.au themselves since there is a leaflet on the package with their email on it for warranty.

Came with a very nice box, the batteries it came with had 2012/03 on it exp date is in 2018, duracell alkaline, they're not flat, there is indeed an outer O-ring in the light, I'm not a torch enthusiast, and at $30 delivered it's a very nice torch.
Box comes with Led Lenser sticker, and a little handloop, similar to one you'd use for a small digital camera.
I swear this is brighter than a desktop lamp.

        • Could the number under the logo on the torch be the serial? Its only 6 digits though.

        • Mine ends in 94, what does yours end in?
Also, I can't find any mention of the T7 in the zenimports online catalogue, there is no T series at all, there's the P series though.

        • Received mine today as well (Sydney, Inner). Extremely ringy beam. However, batteries were not flat.

My 6 digit number under the logo ends with 191. Seems to be the serial number.

And here's the T7 in titanium from an official dealer - http://www.gearzone.com.au/products/led-lenser-t7-led-torch

        • The weight of the torch is definitely more than 198g with the batteries though, lithium AAA should take lower the battery weight though

        • Mine ends in 63.

  • Torch arrived with a very nice box, etc… Great quality but slight ringy beam as described above. However at this price I am very happy with it. I once had a US$700 titanium torch that was hand made (same size as the T7), I have sold it because the quality did not match my expectation.

  • +1

Have a long play with the torch. This is the best bang (dangerous word) per buck that I have ever spent on a torch :) and wishing that I bought more to be gifted away. This torch is still available but the LEDT7 code is no longer valid.

  • waiting waiting… I'm in WA so I take it that I may have another week or so to wait :P

  • +3

It's in stock again. Any chance of another price reduction?

  • YES!
    It arrived today!
    ^.^

  • @QQQ - CatchOfTheDay,
Could we Please have it on offer again?

    Thank You Very Much,
    Roberta

    • Seems like the COTD Rep (QQQ) is trying to avoid your questions. I don't really like unresponsive Rep!
BTW, this thread should be marked as "EXPIRED" instead of "OUT OF STOCK" as stock is still available.

      • +1

seems unlikely that he purposely doesn't want to answer it.

      • So, if a rep doesn't cave into requests to reopen a deal that has been expired for days, he is unresponsive and you don't like him?

He hasn't made any comment anywhere on the site for 5 days, so how is he "trying" to avoid questions? What do you want him to reply with? No? Then you don't like him anyway because you missed out?

Who cares what it's marked as? It's not available at that price.

  • +2

    I will second that.
There is people out there that didnt purchase first time.
Please QQQ - Catchoftheday have the offer again.

  • I got mine this morning. Quite a heavy torch!
