  • Thanks for the reminder! I’m so disorganised I’d have forgot! I actually never got around to activating the sim, yet still paid the $12.50 a month. That shouldn’t effect my cancellation through Optus chat right?

  • Thanks. I have cancelled now. Logged in on desktop browser and did it via webchat.

    Apparently device is unlocked. Wish I realised this earlier, I was thinking I would need to fulfil contract to get it unlocked and then I can sell it.

    Ended up not using it a lot as I don't really like the screen colour/appearance. Data SIM came in handy though.

    I don't want to keep it, but am hoping someone might buy it used for a good price. Anyone know what I could expect to fetch for it used?

    • Hey! I’m going to sound stupid, but it says my next month starts in 6 days.
      Question, do I have to cancel my plan on the day of expiry?
      I have $0 device repayment showing. If I cancel sim plan 6 days early, will they end up back charging me for device and discounts? I’m so confused

      • Would suggest you just chat or phone them.

        I logged in on their website and it indicated my next payment would be 12.50 for the data plan, without any device repayment.

        I also noted that I already made 12 x monthly payments.

        Mine is scheduled to be cancelled the day before the next payment.

    Just realized I've already paid 13 months as of today lmao.

    Anyway, still showing 12.50 for me next (this) month, and the one we just finished was 12.50. Ended up using this as a hotspot for the second half of the house, was probably going to switch to Dodo at $10 p/m for 2gb with unlimited 1mbps but if this stays on indefinitely for 12.50, might just be worth keeping that.

  • Tried to use chat to cancel. But they said I have to call. I took me 40 minutes on the phone to cancel it. Really bad.

  • Funny enough I still get 1 month of prime left from subhub even with cancel.
