EUFYCAM 3 (S330) - First Hand Experience / Review

Hey - I was checking out wireless security cameras and the general thumbs up seems to be the EUFYCAM 3 (S330) - apart from their 'mistake' last year (https://www.channelnews.com.au/eufys-chinese-owners-finally-…)

Link to their website - (https://myeufy.com.au/eufycam-3-s330-2-pack-with-homebase-3.…)

has any one bought/using this system?. and any comments?

Their doesn't seem to be alot of info regarding the lag time between sensing / recording movement which is my main concern.

I have the new eufy3 with 8x cameras (at work) and at home have many different eufy cams with 2x home base 2 and just recently added a home base 3.

The home base 3 with the newer cameras works well. Only issue with the new system so far is that the AI face recognition can be a hit hit and miss and eufy are working out some bugs with their notifications. Have recently stopped getting any at all. I’m confident they’ll fix this soon enough.

    Would I buy again. Yes.

Adding older gen 1 and gen 2 cams to the home base 3 at the moment is a bit hit and miss. Again, all looking to be resolved in a future firmware update. Eufy keep pushing dates back, but slowly things are happening.

Are you using wireless cameras or POE?

I don’t think Eufy have any POE cameras. Everything I use is Eufy wireless. Some battery, battery+solar, or USB powered.

Just have to be aware of the flaws I guess.
Last I checked, the new gen 3 cameras can still be disabled and recordings made inaccessible by someone simply holding the sync button down for a few seconds.
Granted, most regular petty crooks are not going to know how to do it, but it is something that Anker has refused to address, similar to the recent "mistake".

I've literally just finished setting up an Eufy system at my house. 4 cameras and the new homebase. I setup a camera in a tree out the front of my house to see the letterbox and have added an automation (in the Eufy app) to trigger recording of my front door camera when the driveway camera is triggered. Hopefully this will mean I don't get the late sensing and recording issue you are talking about. If this works I may add a cheaper 1080p eufy camera to use a trigger elsewhere also. It's not perfect but I reckon it'll do the job. So far though I'm really happy with the Eufy setup. I have 3 other indoor Eufy cameras setup without the homebase at my office and they are really great. They have SD card storage and record 24/7. Not paying a subscription is the best feature.

  • Conveniently JB/Bing Lee have both the 2 pack and 4 pack on special this week.
