Can Someone Help with eBay Australia Details?

My account was suspended by Ebay and they refused to share any reason. They put a hold on payout of the payments from the sale.

They advised me the payout will be within 60 days of suspension. When followed up after 61 days, they said the payout will be after 70 days. No payment was still received.

When I followed up today, they said my bank account is not verified so they will now follow unclaimed monies process. This is complete rubbish as my bank account was fully verified. When I challenged the chat representative, he stated he can't help further and ended the chat. Ebay is full of shit and complete fraudulent company.

I have attached the screenshot of my bank account verification and also Ebay chat.

Can someone help me with their Australia company details including ABN and office address. I want to send them letter of demand and also want to initiate NCAT proceedings if they don't payout.

Many thanks

    Try fair trading first….

    • From memory, dodgy eBay's real address in Sydney is in the same building as Gumtree and Paypal on 1 York St in the CBD. I saw it myself as one of my offices was located nearby.

      • The above one worked for me 18 months ago .. may not be current

  • Go to fair trading, I had to do this to get back gift cards that they stole.

Ebay is full of shit and complete fraudulent company.

Yet your account was suspended? This doesn't happen for the average law-abiding person…

    • -7

You seem to be representative of Ebay….

      • Totally…

Or it could be that I've had an account on there for 19yrs with no issues

Offcourse why would Ebay suspend their own employee account.

Anyways irrespective of suspension, it does not give them any right to refuse the fund payout and their explanation clearly confirms their fraudulent activity.

          • @ShazOz: When did you verify the bank account?

            • +1

@spackbace: just look it up since you are an employee :)

Company's like eBay are oviously never at fault, they are perfect in case you didn't know.

ive had an ebay account for over 20 years, I've never any situation which could cause it to be suspended.

What were you selling and can you show us your last sold items with pictures?

    • Does eBay still allow access if they suspend your a/c?

I've had an account on eBay for over 20 years. Never a problem.

What did you sell and buy? Was your account hacked by someone and used for shill bidding or money laundering?

It's likely eBay has made a mistake here and it should be corrected, but we're only seeing about 30% of the relevant data.

    • A single user not having a problem does not mean eBay is perfect.
I have had a number of issues with eBay (never a suspension).
eBay support is often poor, misleading and inconsistent.
You just need one bad experience to change your mind and I hope that does not happen to you.

  • You have to be polite and friendly during ebay chat, otherwise they won't help you. They don't appreciate talk like: "this is rubbish excuse"
I can only imagine how the rest of the conversation went…

Be polite, hold back your anger and try again.

One time I was a bit rude to ebay customer service, because I was pissed off about something (I don't remember what) and they wouldn't help me, because I had been rude.
The next day I contacted ebay again about the same issue and was super polite and they fixed the issue straight away.
A little friendliness goes a long way.

    • Thanks - I tried again today and their story has been changed to 120 days.

I don't know what to believe here!

  • In OP's defense, I started a new account in November(ish) and signed up to the eBay Plus $4 for a year offer (Yes, for a year). Bought about 10 items (give or take) and then in February(ish) I got an email saying that my account was being reviewed, and then about 4 days later I got another email saying that my account has been permanently suspended, messaged their live support and they wouldn't disclose why due to 'Security Reasons' and told me to avoid using eBay for my purchasing needs moving forward.

To my knowledge I did nothing wrong, but alas I was trying to enquire into what I did so I could fix it (Despite not doing anything), to no avail.

I jumped on r/ebaysucks on reddit to open up a thread and found a few other posts similar to mine (regarding the above). Just checked it now, and there's legit 2 posts within a few days regarding eBay banning accounts.

    • You were suspended as a buyer?

      • Can't think of any other reason so I guess?

        • +1

I was just clarifying that your eBay account was used for buying only as the OP is a seller.

    • Multiple accounts?

      • +1

They don't mind me having multiple acs and paying the full Ebay + fees every year on them .
        Both of us win :)

        • lostgoat is correct, to my knowledge you can have as many accounts as you wish.
Although keep in mind that every account goes through an ID verification / KYC stage to prevent scams etc

here, i'm gonna be a nice guy and give you this template to use. Obviously, fill in the blanks and I would just serve it (use trackable mail). They will get their lawyers (Corrs from memory) to write back. Usually they will just release the funds sooner (plus Corrs bills them for the work) lols.

Just check that the details of eBay is still valid. It was a while back when I served them. Served Paypal a few years too and got them to pay interest. Helps when you have a law background.

    To whom this may concern,

I am the owner of eBay account [insert]. On the [insert] 2023, eBay Australia & New Zealand, without providing any valid reason, suspended my account withholding a total of $18,999.70 of funds due to me after the item was sold.

It is my understanding that the funds are processed and managed by EBAY Commerce Australia Pty Ltd.

After discussing with customer service several times, I have not received any definitive response as to when the funds will be released. Given the environment we are currently in, it seems unreasonable to continue to hold amounts owed to me for this long.

The below is a print screen of the funds held by eBay. I demand to have access to my funds which are being unreasonably withheld from me as soon as possible. If the funds are not released to me within 10 business days, I will seek to file claim with the local court of the above sum plus additional costs.

I look forward to a resolution.

    Best regards,

    • What year did you serve them?

      • In the last few years - I don't want to be specific.

    • alternatively, if you can't confirm eBay's address or their entity, just mail it to their lawyers directly. They will have to deal with it one way or another.

You don't have to be doing anything wrong to be banned by Ebay, they have an over-zealous ban bot that bans accounts no matter how verified or how long you've been using it.

I've had an my account banned, my only crime was browsing ebay. I never bought, sold or contacted anyone and all my account details were legit.

My brother had his account banned after over 10 years of buying and selling. He was trying to sell his old laptop when he was contacted by someone interested wanting to know more about it, the moment he submitted his reply he was banned. (The person he replied to was new and had no history)

Customer service only gave him a copy-paste reply, when he asked what he did wrong they told him they can't discuss bans and cut the chat.

The next day he asked again and the agent banned him from contacting support altogether.

It also came out that many people had they accounts banned around that time by their crazy bot.

I would rank Ebay's customer service as the worst of any company I have ever delt with. They have no service, they tell you what they think and its end of conversation. Being polite doesn't work.

You don't have to look far to find how many long time sellers Ebay has burned. They don't care, period.

    Hope your case goes well.
