This is is the standard chinese 7" model with capactive screen, 512mb ram, 1.2ghz a13 cpu etc. Ok , it is not that exciting for all you tech spoilt people but the prices have dropped rapidly(from about $100 > $65-70 ) on these models recently due to dual core becoming more mainstream and they are very capable for most tasks. The only major drawback with these units is that the battery capacity is always way overrated; 7 hours run time made me chuckle, more like 2 hours if you micro manage the battery and treat it like a pet. If you don't like the deal then bite me.

UPDATE - the A13 chipset has a built in mali400 GPU which is fantastic for rendering HD movies and simple 2d/3d games.

  • nom nom nom nom…..lol!

last time i bought a china tablet similar to this it was $81, how prices have come down!
but as a second tablet to stop others borrowing your main unit or one for gift giving you can do a lot worse, although being the A13 cpu you just lose the hdmi port

  • lol not sure how integral to the deal that last sentence is!
These thing are getting cheap though…

    • Some people tend to think I'm a covert affiliate for "buy in coins", definitely not true. They have great products and customer service. But yeah, this is a bona fide deal and I have just purchased one for myself to show i'm not kidding around.

  • I just bought one for $63.80 with favorable currency conversion. I have a feeling many family members and friends will ask me to buy many more once they get to demo it.

Let us know your review on this product

      • I sure will. TBH, I bought a very similar model running ICS a few months back when they were $90 and I was wholly impressed and satisfied with it. Gaming, movies, music, web browsing - it could pretty much handle it all and was snappy/responsive. When a product is this ridiculously cheap and capable you can hardly complain.

HI Mate, I am thinking of buying this for my 2 year old, just for games, and to use around as a slate and a painting board ?
Do you recommend? Atleast that way I will be able to keep him off our phones?

Would love to hear if all the basic android apps work well on this.

        • Take a look at the Innotab if you want a kid-oriented tablet:

Dammit, I could've saved another $1.27 off the price.

      • well it covers part of your paypal costs

  • does anyone know if it charges by usb?

    • Yes, it does charge via AC and USB, albeit a little more slowly.
I found that if I was using the tablet continuously on USB charger, the drain rate(discharge) was greater than the charge rate but only by a fraction and never long enough to flatten the battery.
You will be supplied with a very crappy, short length US AC charger so I find it better just to charge it with a 5-10m USB cable. Unless of course you have a power point conveniently next to you on your desk. You will ofcourse need a converter plug to use the US AC charger.

      • Sorry for the late question but now interested in buying it. Can u confirm this tablet charges by usb? I have a sneaking suspicion it doesnt. The pendo pad I previously had had a power cord (like this) and didn't usb charge. The ones that do ,generally don't have the power cord pin I think

        • Yes, it can both USB and AC charge although the latter provides a higher charge rate(amperage). I find that if screen brightness is turned up high then the power drain is greater than the charge rate(1amp) via USB. This does not apply to AC adapter which is rated at 2amps.

        • Thanks mate

  • 2 hour battery. Yikes. Is that 2 hours on video playback or web surfing?

    • Both, same. I put a review up in the forums when I put my first 7" tablet from china which you commented on. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/67087
Yes, it is a shame about battery life but the manufacturers must skimp on these components to keep the prices so low.

  • Toilet Tab :)

    • +4

I actually dislike using my tablets in the toilet. They are a bit too large and when you want to wipe you have to balance it with one hand or find a place to put the tablet down first(which is virtually impossible in my toilet, apart from the floor which is yuck). For toilet entertainment, I stick to the smartphone or just use good old magazines.

      • You just crossed the line,
        too much information!

will pay a bit more at http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/75742

the ainol live up to the expectation of 5-7 hours
not 2 hours as you mentioned.

  • Is there much difference between this ePad and the Gpad G7 listed here: http://www.cartgoo.com/product/575.html#.UCUVNJ3iaRE ? The only thing I see is that the Gpad can do HDMI out, for less than $10 more. Otherwise they both look the same.

    • Gpad has a slightly bigger battery (200mah, not much difference, but still fairly poor) and a 100mhz CPU clock speed increase.

    • Interesting. Please put up this Gpad as a deal to see what response you get. Will be good to hear from anyone who might have bought it in the past.
