IKEA LAGERGÅNG "ScreenBar" Monitor Lamp $29 + Delivery (+$5 C&C/ $0 in-Store) @ IKEA

260

Yeaaaa, this not a deal. Just a new IKEA product and a significantly cheaper alternative to BenQ’s overpriced $120+ ScreenBar.

Dimmable, 370 lumens, USB-C and most importantly, Turquoise.

Bring on the “This-is-not-a-deal“ hate!

  • isn't this comparing koganlight blub to Philip hue light blubs purely on price?

      Are they good blubs?

I like IKEA. Not so much Kogan :)

BenQ's is not the only option available, a few key things I see

    • No temperature range, doesn't specify what kelvin the light is either
    • Built-in cable
    • tilt adjustment looks finnicky
    • 4 set brightnesses, not a smooth ramp adjustment

Not all LEDs are made equal, someone would have to measure the CRI output

    • +1

At least it’s not microUSB :)

IKEA usually does their homework. I bet this is an acceptable mediocre product that won’t certainly touch BenQs but will satisfy a lot of people who want them just because every influencer has one for much cheaper, which is generally what they target anyway.

      CRI output

This is quite important for me.

    • Also the Benq, is that better than the xiaomi? It's half the price, or less with a wireless rotary dial for brightness control. They mention Razor Chroma support which I've tried and given up on, but it's a thing.

      Random link for reference.

Those have been awesome (I think I got a yeelight).

BenQ one is better because it’s more ex. And this one is better because it’s more cheap :)

        I'm happy with my Xiaomi

the puck is great for turning it on & off as you don't have to reach forward to the monitor, particularly when it's on an arm

great light quality with smooth adjustable kelvin & brightness
plenty of rotation and removable type-C cable

        • How much did that cost and which retailer did you buy from?

    • -1

I bought the Quntis from Amazon a few weeks ago and that's actually pretty decent.

For whatever strange reason the laptop version which is more a selfie ring light but could serve a similar purpose does let you adjust temperatures, has a ball joint which looks like it offers better tilt adjustment and is cheaper.

Still built-in cable though and has even less brightness adjustments, 3 instead of 4.

I bought this one a while ago and have been pretty happy with it. 3 different temperatures and smooth adjustment for brightness

just buy xiaomi one, bought it almost 2 years ago and still going strong and serving me well.

    • Is that the Xiaomi Mija?

      • pretty sure it's just called computer monitor light

  • I tried to look up more details and someone on YouTube mentioned that this has 3000K colour temp and 3 brightness settings, seems to fade/dim between settings by pressing the button on top, press and hold to turn off. Not as convenient as a hockey puck, but seems okay for the price

  • Why's it only available in this ugly colour though?

    • Beauty is in the eye of its beholder :)

  • Will this make my pc lag?

    • Only if you lack RGB lighting :)

  • Reg. price?

    • Bingo :)
