      In stock in dandenong regions

It's definitely effective. My partner found it good to prevent hair fall too.

I personally didn't like its smell, and I don't blame them, it's a medicated shampoo. At least smells better than the other medicated ones

    • Same here, you get used to the smell but it's the best I've ever used.

    • If you go out in the sun within a day of using it the smell is a lot worse.

    • it's a medicated shampoo

Is that mean I shouldn't use it that often?

Whenever there's an Aldi post, that female robotic voice goes off in my head:

    "Register 2 Please"

    -10s later-

    "We are closing Register 2"

    • "store manager to the register"
      "store manager to the register"
      "store manager to the register"
      "store manager to the register"

    • +2

It's always register 2 (happened to me this morning lol)

      • +1

That's because they never have more than one register open at any given time.

    • "We are now opening Register 3. Please proceed to unpack your groceries."

This is the only psoriasis shampoo that works in my opinion. This deal's a banger. Thanks OP.

    • Have you tried Nizoral, I found it works better than T-Gel.

      • Really depends on what your scalp issue is doesn't it? ie fungal seb derm or eczema allergy inflammation. For the unluckier people anything short of a cortisone steroidal method doesn't work and that can't be used long term either.

        • If it's psoriasis T-Gel works. It's old tech, but tar usually works if you use it properly. I can't speak to other conditions that I don't have.

The reason this deal is great is because T-Gel is awfully expensive and if you want it to work you must use it as directed. You have to wash your hair daily with two applications, using twice as much shampoo as you otherwise would, more often than you otherwise would.

People who say it doesn't work, when I've interrogated them on psoriasis support forums etc. admit to ignoring the bottle and only using it via one application like every third day, and then complaining that it's ineffective. The mechanism is in the dual application and in the persistent usage. That's how tar works on psoriasis.

          • @IPYF: You don't get dry scalp or hair issues shampooing everyday? Also I thought I remembered it saying to only limit use to 2-3 times a week but it actually doesn't explicitly state to use daily on the back of box directions. Though the 2in1 version does mention to use daily or 2-3 times a week.

            • @vawiyoci: If I'm wrong that's how it is, but I feel like it used to say that, or at least did when I started using it. I tend to use it daily until I'm 100% clear, which is usually about 8-9 days straight in my experience. Then you can taper off, but like all thinks psoriasis, that's a game of elastic.

The 2 in 1 (belied by the fact it's like $5 a bottle) does nothing and the conditioner component just makes your hair a ball of fluff. I tend to use a non-medicated conditioner too fwiw, because I don't think it tends to add much.

      It helped me, too. 10/10

  • Can I use this as a daily shampoo instead of head and shoulders?

    • +2

It's pretty harsh shampoo, you may not want to use it daily. Unless you can add moisture to your hair again somehow. Even then if you want to avoid dandruff then daily use may not be necessary.

      • +1

shit, I used it daily for the last two weeks. I just googled it

Is it okay to use T gel shampoo everyday?
Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo should be used two to three times weekly for the treatment of scalp disorders. Treatment usually lasts for 6 weeks, after which time improvement should be seen. Longer periods of treatment should only take place under the supervision of a doctor.

Allergic reactions including itchy rash and sensitivity to light. Dry hair, hair loss or changes in hair colour. Eye or skin irritation, burning sensation, itching, dry scalp, acne like breakouts or rash. If you get any side-effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.

Oh, ok. I guess I shouldn't have used it every day for years. 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

    • I use this all other times - https://amzn.asia/d/dY6dxgG

    • You're supposed to use it only 2 or 3 times a week, with either a normal shampoo (IE your H&S) or no shampoo with showers in between. It's not a daily wash.

      • +3

You realistically don't need to wash your hair daily even with a normal shampoo

        • +3

Daily shampooing will just remove moisture leaving hair weak and brittle. I only shampoo and condition twice a week at the most, or as required.

        • With my condition if I don't wash daily my scalp gets very scabby and itchy. It is both unpleasant and embarrassing

cheaper here and only need to purchase one. can also price beat at chemist warehouse. they have stores in most states in Australia.

  • Is it better than Selsun Gold to remove dandruft ?

    • I use selsun when I need it but wondering if I should try this

  • What do I need tgirl shampoo for?

  • Thanks! It hasn’t been on special at Priceline for ages. I did manage to snag some at a random IGA for half price a few weeks ago but I’ll stick up while I can anyway.

  • The best shampoo I've come across for dandruff is moogoo

    • Hi . I looked up their website and couldn't find any dandruff specific shampoo. Is it this one you're talking about

      https://moogoo.com.au/collections/hair-care/products/natural…

Can you please tell me if it dried your scalp after usage ?

      Thanks

      • +1

No, they don't have a specific dandruff shampoo; I've been using their milk shampoo and cream conditioner for a few years and it's the best combo I've come across for my dandruff. Doesn't give me a dry scalp, but I always use the conditioner as well, so that might be preventing it.

        • Thanks, will give it a try. Seems like a nice natural product.

  • I found this to be just as good.. for a fraction of the price.

If you read the name it says coal tar fragrance and has no coal tar in it, I have tried this one and it's isn't really the same

      • +3

Yeah surprised someone hasn't tried to hit them up for deceptive packaging after all these years. Since who the hell wants tar fragrance lol. But judging by the positive reviews seems like it does work for certain folks, either their secret formula is effective or the placebo is extra strong.

  • +4

It almost never sells out whenever they carry it, just wait 2 weeks and they drop the price by 50%. It's how i've bought the last 2 times.

  • +1

In animal studies, coal tar has been shown to increase the chance of skin cancer.

  • +3

I use this for my psoriasis & seborrheic dermatitis 3 times a week. As long as I apply it a few times a week, it keeps both at bay. It's great stuff.

  • Doesn’t say anything about limiting to 2-3 times a week on either the bottle or the carton.

I was expecting it to smell bad in a good way. Like that clear amber soap stuff. Damn it smells like mothballs!!

  • Just went by my local Aldi in Moorabbin Victoria and found none! :( Delays may be accurate unfortunately.

    • +1

Last time I have to ask their staff and they took it out from inside for me.

      • Cheers for letting me know. I'll do this.
