I switched to pizza hut, can't eat dominos anymore, all their pizzas taste the same no matter what you order

    • +7

Agreed. Pizza Hut has been wayyyy better for the last year. I could never go back to domino’s 🤢

    • Exactly. Taste one taste all.

    • Any good deals at Pizza Hut though?

I enjoyed Dominos when I was getting a Hawaiian, Supreme and Garlic Bread for $18.

    • +1

what? not to say dominos is anything special but I find it completely the other way around. Besides pizza hut's ultimate hot and spicy everything there tastes the same.

  • +16

Their pricing structure is so complicated now - with all the "ad-ons". Dominos have really lost their way. No thanks

    • Confused why you upvoted it if you don’t consider this a deal

      • Simple really. It’s human nature to whinge and whinge and whinge, but comes flogging back to a bargain. Such simpletons right? Heh.

        • Tips Fedora These simpletons don't know good pizza when they see it!

If only other pizza shops would spend their marketing budget on creating deals this, rather than employing people slag the opposition.

$8 chicken supreme. Cant make it for that price.

    • +1

What do you mean by ‘employing people to slag the opposition’?

Anyone found a participating store? I've tried about 20 stores in various states and none have worked. Is this one store specific OP?

    • I tried 5 stores in NSW and did not work either

    • Tried 5 local stores in Queensland. Not accepted.

  • +2

Where does this code work! Tried about 8 stores in Victoria and not one store accepted the voucher.

  • No idea how to tell but worked in few local to me in seq

  • I tried 2 shops close to me in SA, and none accepted the code, HOWEVER, when I proceeded to order, they had a pop up with SaveFest sale saying Value pizzas are $5 and Traditional pizzas are $8… so it works out exactly the same?

  • Try 618848

    Or 238785

Those are coming up for my store which is same price as OP

    • +5

      It says voucher expired

  • 133 days to expiry? Hardly likely.

  • +1

Not accepted in Auburn NSW, good. I'd rather buy from the local pizza shops.

  • No go at Pakenham and Officer…

Having a questionable pizza that is cheap is ok… but upping and complicating the pricing… i too think I'm done with Dominos.

I think they’ve changed the backend with coupon codes when they updated the app and adde the Wallet. The Wallet has bern a bit confusing for sone of their customers so they continue to hit you with SMS and email promos. The specific store codes look much more unique now and my local stock just had 50%”customer appreciation day” - it looked like the sort of code that might work in multiple stores but as I pointed out at the start there seemed to be a big overhaul of codes. I’ll often try every code on the OzB list and I used to get maybe 3-4 working codes, now I might get 1 working code or no working codes at all. Maybe franchises were complaining that they were selling pizza for 40% off and not realising it.

I know I’ve gone into my local store a few times and they look shocked that I’ve got a traditional large for $6 or for about 2 months the code that gave you 2 sides (garlic bread and 1.25l) drink for $5 kept on working - maybe it was intentional.

Like other posters Dominos are all starting to taste the same. Alas we’ve had out Pizza Hut shut down over 18 months ago now and Crust (some nice Pizza but the prices for their gourmet range is expensive.

I’ve written here before that I have three local stores a I’d rather buy from

    A) one shuts at 8pm they only open at 5pm. Don’t turn up any later than 15 minutes to closing time as they won’t take your order, plus their prices are now $20 for your typical large

    B) other two have a standard and gourmet range but they two have put a single large pizza up to $20 and $25 for gormet. They are open from 5pm til 9pm.

    C) I’ve found one place which won’t deliver to me as I’m too far away that is 10pm most nights and 11pm on Friday and Saturday but it’s a 35 minute round trip - prices a bit more reasonable than my local three but the reasonable price items, add all that petrol and no so reasonable.

The three local all jacked their prices in January and asking $20 for one Pizza even with inflation - sorry guys I’m not that rich. They may have enough regulars to keep them afloat.

Being in a large regional city we are spoilt rotten for independent Pizza places that I can see closing down with their revised prices. I’ve bought Domino’s at 11pm and while there are minimal staff on, they are still getting orders, the local one had put up their delivery price so more people doing pickups like me.

For me, any fast food place that shuts at 9pm either have worked out they don’t get enough orders to stay open later or they didn’t scope out tte competition before opening. Only one of the three locals offer delivery and they have one vehicle (that I’ve seen) a minimum order of $30 plus a delivery fee.

Either I’m getting totally ripped off or they are all doing it tough and hope people get sick of buying Dominos but everyone is doing it tough and asking $20 for a pickup pizza is seriously on the expensive side. I’ll have to check their prices again as maybe they have dropped it a bit.

I can’t afford $20 for your fairly typical pizza menu but I can afford when domino’s has a sale. I agree it’s not great Pizza but all fast food has increased in price, sone more than others. When your income varies from how much work you get and it’s hard enough to get work unless you are a tradie (at least for me) fast food has almost become a luxury and I’m not paying $20 for a pizza unless it’s a gourmet one. Even then that’s a tough price to swallow.

    <end rant>

    • I feel you bro, there is a good pizza shop nearby, and it's not too too far - but by the time I walk home the pizza is barely warm :(

How can any food place keep open for 3 hours a night and turn a profit? That seems ridiculous. Their prices must be outrageous.

      • Maybe they make more money on the pizzas they don't sell and would rather catch up laundry.

  • Used to buy a Domino's Pizza once a week or at least fortnight. Not bought one for 9 months due to the deals just not for me anymore.
Just want a Traditional Pizza at a cheap pick up price but maybe a dollar more because of inflation. I never buy Sundays or public holidays.
Or sometimes if I can't drive I got any pizza $15 delivered. Don't want Drinks or Garlic bread got all that at home if wanted.
I live across the road from Pizza Hut but used to like Dominos a little bit better.

  • There's nothing premium about anything coming out of a dominos kitchen, D- grade pizza

  • +1

When searching for pizza hut there was a 40% off dominos ad with voucher code: 231697
